It's official. Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock are now divorced.The American Idol winner and her former husband Brandon Blackstock have finally reached a divorce settlement after a court battle that lasted almost two years.
Kelly and Brandon decided to get divorced in June 2020 after being married for seven years.
Clarkson requested to be legally divorced in documents filed July 2021, highlighting that she and Blackstock both deserve the chance to get to start over. According to documents obtained by People, Clarkson was declared legally single in August.
How Much Will Kelly Clarkson Pay Her Ex-Husband?
The pop singer behind the hit songs "Because of You" and "My Life Would Suck Without You" will pay her ex-husband a huge one-time payment of $1.3 million, as well as a monthly child support payment of $45,601 for their two children, River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5. Per Us Weekly, The support payment began on February 1, according to court documents.
In addition, the former couple agreed to share joint custody of their children, though River and Remington will live with Clarkson in Los Angeles. Both children will be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus as part of the deal, as they will be moving out of state to visit their father at the Montana ranch, where he will be staying for the moment.
According to People, even though Clarkson will receive both of their Montana residences, Blackstock will pay the singer $2,000 each month until June while he uses the property.The talk show host agreed to grant Blackstock a 5.12% ownership stake in their Warren Peak Ranch property. Brandon's ownership interest in the Warren Peak Ranch is $908,800 according to the filings sincen the ranch is appraised at $17,750,000, per ET Online.

Thankful For the Lessons
During the coronavirus outbreak, Kelly Clarkson spent much of the last two years quarantining with her family in Montana. In April 2020, she noted on the "Today" show that she finds it amusing to be with the kids though there is difficulty in doing the teaching and all those kinds of things, as it can be "gloomy and there's a lot of uncertainty."
In addition to the lump sum payment, the American Idol champ will be required to pay her ex-husband $115,000 a month in spousal support until January 31, 2024.
The spousal support figure is less than the $150,000 per month Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock in July of last year, in addition to the $45,601 per month in child support.
In turn, Blackstock will get the their farm cattle, livestock, stock dogs and horses, as well as multiple vehicles like their Ford F-350 and Ford F-250.
According to a report by ET, the pop star is grateful for her relationship with Brandon that taught her a lot about herself and made her a mother of two "perfect" kids. Clarkson is also looking forward "to moving on and successfully co-parenting" with her former husband.
