Iowa State (18-4) is on a three-game winning streak after their 92-81 loss on Jan. 29 to Kansas. The No. 11 Cyclones head into Monday's contest after an 84-69 rout of TCU, which included 48 points from senior forward Melvin Ejim.

"All the great players that have gone through this league and Melvin Ejim's name is at the top," Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg said, via ESPN. "That's unbelievable for a guy that maybe doesn't get as much credit as he deserves."

Ejim, the teams' leading scorer with 19.8 points per game, also grabbed 18 rebounds in the win over TCU.

"We were just playing," said Ejim. "I wasn't really looking up to see how much I had. These guys just kept telling me to be aggressive, keep playing. I think I figured it out when they started chanting my name."

West Virginia, meanwhile, had their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in an 83-69 loss at Kansas. The Mountaineers (14-10) couldn't connect from the floor, pushing their field goal percent to 39.8 percent over the last five games, according to ESPN.

"We just had some guys didn't play very well, which happens," said Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins. "We just didn't make any open shots."

While junior guard Juwan Staten leads the team in points (18.3 ppg) and assists (5.9 apg), Huggins acknowledged the team needs better production off the bench.

"The hard part about not having depth is we have to play Staten so long, we have to play Harris so long," said Huggins. "I don't think it affects us in this game, but it may affect us on Monday (against Iowa State)."
