The Queen overruled Prince Charles and Prince William to enable Prince Andrew, the Queen's disgraced son, to accompany her to the Duke of Edinburgh's memorial service.

To the surprise of many in the audience, the Duke of York accompanied his mother across Westminster Abbey to her seat in full front of the live broadcast cameras on Tuesday.

Queen Elizabeth Travels to London With Prince Andrew

It was the embarrassing royal's first public appearance since a rumored $16 million deal with Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre in New York to conclude a highly damaging civil sexual assault case. Because of his relationship with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew has been compelled to withdraw from public life.

Princes Charles and Prince William are said to have expressed reservations on many occasions about permitting the duke to walk the 95-year-old monarch down to her seat at such a well-publicized ceremony. According to The Mirror, the future monarchs totally agreed that his high-profile role was unnecessary.

But their protests were of the Queen, who chose Andrew to play a particular role in the event since it was her "wish and final decision" to rule. The decision has been described as shocking and horrifying by senior royals, including Charles and William.

Despite William and Charles' protests, the Duke of York is said to have had his way after appealing to carry his 95-year-old mother to her seat because she couldn't say no to her favorite son.

After that, Prince Andrew went hand in hand with his mother before assisting her to her seat. He also sat in the first row with his brother, Prince Edward, rather than his daughters, as what was expected.

Duke of York Avoids Interacting With the Royal Family

Critics saw the move as a bold attempt by the 62-year-old to re-enter the public eye in the hopes of a mission creep return to public life or a chance to attend the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Mail Online reported

Meanwhile, despite stepping in beside The Queen, Prince Andrew was ignored by the royal family and did not connect cordially with them during Prince Philip's burial. After the service, the Duke of York allegedly shunned receptions and went directly back to Westminster with his mother.

The Duke of York drove his mother's automobile 30 miles between Windsor and London. He then strolled arm in arm with the monarch around Westminster Abbey yesterday morning before settling into a first-row seat.

According to reports, Prince William was apprehensive about Prince Andrew's participation in his father Philip's burial ceremony. According to a family insider, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Charles were among the senior Royals dismayed by Andrew's choice to place himself front and center.

The Queen's grin and modest bow to Prince Andrew during Prince Philip's funeral ceremony should be interpreted as a consciously intended gesture to the world, according to a body language expert. Furthermore, a royal observer has stated that the Queen's choice to accompany Prince Andrew to London was a clear show of support for her second son, as per The Sun.
