Residents of Georgia will receive another stimulus payment after Gov. Brian Kemp approved the one-time tax refund for qualified taxpayers.
The stimulus payment would be made to residents who filed their taxes for both 2020 and 2021, according to the official announcement for House Bill 1302. The estimated payments will range from $250 to $500 based on the taxpayer's filing.
Despite the pandemic's impact, Kemp attributes the surplus to the state's healthy economy. Georgia's lawmakers, he added, have done a fantastic job with prudent budgeting. Kemp emphasized, "It's one-time money." "I think it's best when we have more than we need to send it back to the people that sent it to us, the taxpayers."
