House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said that he's not committed to impeaching President Joe Biden if the Republicans sweep away the Senate and the House.
The Democrats have lost the ball due to mistakes on the border and in Afghanistan. Many Republicans want the party to impeach the president for everything that has happened in his first year of office.
McCarthy on Biden Impeachment
McCarthy is not keen on impeaching the Democrats if they retake both congress and the Senate in 2022, reported the Epoch Times.
He is expected to become House Speaker assuming Republicans assume charge after the midterm elections. When asked about impeaching Biden, he stated that he did not want to use the impeachment process to his advantage. On April 10, he said they learned that the Democrats exploited impeachment for political reasons.
Former President Donald Trump was impeached twice by Democratic-led impeachment proceedings. However, those impeachments were eventually defeated in the Senate, noted the Washington Examiner.
He went on to say that they stood in the rule of law, and they'd never pick and choose when someone had power. Upholding the law, if someone breaks the law and the consequences lead to impeachment, they will pursue it, but we will not exploit it for partisan benefit.
Additionally, the GOP will have to consider fixing the border security, inflation, and energy; than waste time on less important concerns.
Republicans To Recapture the House
After Biden made a mistake at the border, start the ball rolling to regain energy independence and lessen the pump price as major projects, remarked McCarthy.
Next on the agenda is normalizing schools and taking back the streets from the overflowing crime. The time will come for the Biden administration to be accountable for what it has done to America.
The California Republican stated to do whatever it takes because America has had it with people that play politics regarding impeachment. Nevertheless, we'll let the law determine if it gets to that point.
Traditionally, the president's political party has lost seats in the midterm elections. Democrats currently control a slim majority in the House and a razor-thin Senate majority split 50-50.
In an interview last April 10, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) expressed hope, predicting that Democrats will take a "pretty good beating" in November.
The GOP claims that the president's actions have resulted in a disaster for America, citing the ill-advised pullout from Afghanistan, which has served as a symbol of the administration's incompetence. McConnell added on Fox News that the administration's policies have only pushed back America.
He added that the party would work with the Democrats and come up with anything agreed upon. There is a good chance that the Senate majority leader of the Republicans in the Senate, while McCarthy will be the House Speaker.
President Joe Biden will become a moderate, noted the Kentucky Senator in this setup. McCarthy says impeaching Joe Biden does not serve any purpose when serious concerns like the border and energy security; and other problems need to be addressed.
