The future of superstar LeBron James, who is entering the final year of his contract, is one of the major issues surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason.

Even though he is eligible to sign a two-year contract with the organization this summer, signing a player going into his 20th NBA season for another two would be outrageous under normal conditions.

However, James is far from being an average NBA player, proving once again this season that he belongs among the NBA's elite.

Lakers Nation reported that, as per Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, no talks have yet taken place between James and his Klutch Sports representatives about his future with the Lakers.

Internal negotiations over James' future, according to Klutch Sports sources, have yet to take place. After his exit meeting with the squad last week, James, on the other hand, was indecisive.

As Pincus pointed out, LeBron briefly discussed the matter during his farewell interview, but he did not commit to the Lakers for an extended period.

James explained that the Collective Bargaining Agreement "cannot be discussed until later on in the year," which is why discussions have not occurred yet.

"I know it's out there, but we can't even, myself and Rich [Paul] can't even talk with Rob [Pelinka] or the front office at all because of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. When we get to that point, we'll see," the superstar forward said.

LeBron Willing To Share Insights With Lakers Front Office

James also stated in his farewell interview that he is willing to provide insight to the front office if they truly want it, according to a Siverscreen and Roll report.

"Well I mean, I think the front office is going to do whatever it takes to help this ball club become a better ball club, from top to bottom," James said.

The four-time champion said that he is willing to share his opinion the Lakers' front office asks for it to formulate decisions that "are best for the franchise."

James added that it is his responsibility to make sure that he is prepared for the training camp and "lead the team that's put on the floor, whoever that may be."

"My focus is on getting rid of some of these injuries, time heals all, so wait for these injuries to go down and be ready when training camp starts again.

LeBron also takes on the obligation of leading the players "that the front office decide are going to be a part of this franchise."

Anthony Davis Seeks LeBron's Help In Bringing Back Championship Mentality

Given the Lakers' success with the team constructed around LeBron James and Anthony Davis, it's unlikely that they'll embark on a full-fledged rebuild anytime soon.

The Lakers will be hoping that James and Davis can recreate their success now that LeBron is expected to stay and Davis has already secured a lucrative contract, according to a report from Sports Rush.

Davis seemed to be optimistic about the following season. According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the 8-time All-Star wants to meet with 'King James' to reclaim his championship mindset.

Lakers fans see this development as fantastic news. After a disastrous season, the fact that a superstar like Davis has committed to a championship chase with the 'Purple and Gold' is reassuring.
