Just hours before his arrest, the 44-year-old handyman and lover of Queens mom Orsolya Gaal stopped at Chipotle.

According to the New York Post, David Bonola walked into the Chipotle on Austin Street in Queens on Wednesday, April 20 at approximately 1:20 p.m. and was "friendly" to a staff when he requested for a water cup.

Bonola was apprehended hours later after waving down cops and informing them he was the man they were looking for. In connection with the stabbing death of Orsoyla Gaal, a 51-year-old married mother of two, Bonola has been charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with evidence.

Officials say he was caught late Wednesday and charged hours later after making damning comments and confessing to the crime, Fox News reported.

The handyman had been working with Orsoyla Gaal and her family for the last two years, during which time police say he and the 51-year-old married mother formed an "intimate" connection.

He went to Gaal's family home in Forest Hills, Queens, early on a Saturday morning and stabbed her more than 55 times following an unsuccessful attempt to persuade her to restart their romance, according to law enforcement authorities.

On Saturday morning, Gaal was found slain and stuffed into one of her son's hockey bags; authorities believe Bonola pulled the bag approximately seven-tenths of a mile from her Juno Street house before dumping it. If convicted on the most serious accusation, Bonola, a Mexican national who was allegedly residing in the United States illegally, faces a sentence of 25 to life in prison.

Detectives had the killer in the Queens mom case under observation for days and he observed cops following him, according to new information. Early on in the inquiry, NYPD had Bonola as a suspect.

According to the Daily Beast, officers had his residence under surveillance for days after she died and discovered evidence linking him to the murder scene. On Wednesday, a garbage truck was seen at Bonola's residence, according to detectives.

According to the news site, detectives investigated Bonola's trash and discovered a number of items and garments with blood stains. Orsoyla Gaal's corpse was discovered in the park earlier this year, along with bloodied cloths meant to clean up the mess.

During the hunt, police discovered a bloodied orange jacket that they suspect Bonola threw after the crime in a hollow tree. Bonola contacted the cops, claiming that he had observed that they were following him, according to a senior detective.

Bonola attempted to shift their attention to other probable suspects during questioning. Bonola went to Gaal's residence to discuss about her suspicions that she was talking to other men, according to police. Howard Klein, Gaal's husband, was out of town touring colleges with their older son. After his initial court appearance, Bonola was placed on suicide watch, as per The Scottish Sun.
