For months, Americans have been wondering whether another stimulus check will be sent to their bank accounts. Given how recent inflation has caused living expenditures to increase, it's a fair question.

You could be qualified for a tax refund, which is wonderful news. And if yours is typical of the average receiver, it may be substantially larger than the most recent stimulus payment. The average tax refund as of early April was $3,175, more than double the last stimulus check, which was restricted to $1,400.

When To Receive Bigger Stimulus Check?

In actuality, you could be eligible for a lower refund. You might want to consider getting a bigger one. However, that money might compensate for the stimulation you won't be getting. If you submitted your 2021 taxes after the April 18 deadline, you may not get your refund until the first part of May, presuming you filed electronically.

The IRS usually processes refunds for electronically submitted forms within three weeks after receipt; but if you chose direct deposit, you may get your money sooner. Nonetheless, the IRS was severely overburdened as the tax filing season approached. As a result, reimbursements may take longer than normal to complete.

Furthermore, if you submitted your taxes on paper, you should expect a return within six weeks. It may take much longer this year due to the IRS's overburdening and understaffing (though the agency is hiring new workers to catch up).

If you want more detailed information regarding your tax return, the IRS provides a unique tool. Your refund information should be available in that tool if you filed your tax return on time and electronically. Enter your Social Security number, tax filing status, and precise refund amount to obtain an update.

It will take significantly longer for that tool to update if you filed a paper return. You'll have to wait four weeks in most situations to get information about your refund and find out when you may receive it, Unica News reported.

If your tax return has a problem, the IRS will most likely withhold your refund until the problem is rectified. Typically, you'll receive a letter in the mail that says something similar. If you haven't received your refund after 21 days and filed your return online, you should contact the IRS immediately at 800-829-1040 to inquire about your situation, as per Fool.

These Americans May Receive $850 Stimulus Check in June

The stimulus gods have tossed the dice once more, and the lucky recipients this time are from Maine. Residents are expecting a relief check as early as June, according to Gov. Janet Mills' signature on a $1.2 billion budget.

It includes funds for qualified people in Maine to get $850 checks while the typical household would receive $1,700 in relief payments, among other things. We'll take a deeper look at who is eligible for the payouts in this piece, which are being mailed to around 858,000 people as paper checks (as opposed to direct deposits).

Maine.gov/reliefchecks was launched by the Mills administration on Friday, April 22. People can go there for answers to their questions concerning payments. As a full-time Maine resident, you must file a 2021 Maine individual income tax return by October 31, 2022, to be eligible.

Those who qualify must have a federal adjusted gross income of less than $100,000 if they are single or married and if they are filing separately; $150,000 if they are filing as head of household; or $200,000 if they are married and filing jointly.

Unlike many other stimulus programs, including those at the federal level, what makes this one unique? Maine's program is funded by a state surplus, which Mills proposed and which received near-unanimous support from the state assembly, according to BGR.
