Even when a City Council strips him of a vital honor, Queen Elizabeth II wants Prince Andrew to make a comeback during her Platinum Jubilee, according to a royal book.

In the aftermath of the Jeffrey Epstein affair, the disgraced prince lost his Freedom of the City of York on April 27 in a unanimous vote by councilors who demanded that the Monarch, 96, take revoke his Duke of York title.

However, according to Robert Jobson, author of Prince William at 40, Elizabeth is eager for her favorite son to return, maybe during the Epsom Derby, one of the Platinum Jubilee's official festivities.

It comes just over a month after he reached a settlement with Virginia Giuffre in a civil complaint filed in New York after she accused him of rapping her while she was a 17-year-old sex trafficking victim.

He has previously disputed all of the charges against him and has not admitted culpability. Jobson's views are likely to be influential, given he was informed that Prince Andrew would play a part ahead of Prince Philip's memorial, in which the duke accompanied the queen down the aisle at Westminster Abbey live on the BBC in March.

On June 4, the Epsom Derby will be one of the less formal events of the Platinum Jubilee weekend, which will commemorate Elizabeth's 70th year as Queen, Newsweek via MSN reported.

Why Won't Prince Charles Publicly Back Prince Andrew?

Meanwhile, Prince Charles has refused to publicly support Prince Andrew, citing their lack of a strong relationship, claims a royal author Jennie Bond.

Jennie said, "I think if this got to Parliament I don't think Charles would stand up for his brother and say, 'No you mustn't take his Dukedom away.'"

At York Racecourse on Wednesday, Lib Dem, Labour, Tory, Green, and independent councilors voted unanimously in favor of the proposal, with members of the public joining in the chorus of disapproval for the duke, as per Birmingham Live.

Prince Andrew was deprived of another accolade the day before. The Prince lost his Freedom of the City of York honor after a unanimous decision by York Council. Prince Andrew has held the title since 1987. According to one council member, he is the only individual to ever have that honor taken away from him.

Following Prince Andrew's civil sex lawsuit controversy, he has lost that honor. Prince Andrew, 62, is accused of sexually abusing Virginia Giuffre when she was 17. He has always refuted the allegations. Prince Andrew paid an unknown sum to Giuffre's charity to resolve the lawsuit outside of court. Prince Andrew's freedom of the city was revoked, and councilors demanded that he relinquish his title as Duke of York.

The Royal Family should step in to abolish his title and ultimately eliminate Prince Andrew's tie to York. This is just if Andrew fails to do so. King George VI, the Queen's father, was the Duke of York until becoming King in 1936.

The only method to get rid of the title of Duke is by a legislative act. The last time it happened was in 1917. There have been proposals for Andrew's daughter, Princess Beatrice, to inherit the title of Duchess of York if her father loses it, according to Entertainment Daily.
