In a TV outburst in reaction to the UK backing for Ukraine, Russian official television simulated a scary nuclear assault on Europe, warning there would be no survivors.
On television, Putin propagandists simulated nuclear attacks on three European capitals, stating that the bombs would reach Paris, Berlin, and London in less than 200 seconds. As tensions rise in Ukraine's protracted conflict, there is a rising danger that the rest of the globe may be drawn into the conflict.
Russia Ratchets Up Nuclear Warning
In reaction to statements made by the UK's Armed Forces Minister in support of Ukrainian strikes on Russia, 60 Minutes hosts warned that nuclear weapons could target European capitals in less than four minutes.
The scary assertions about Russia's nukes were made on one of the country's most famous television shows. The show then showed a diagram of how the missiles could be fired from Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave sandwiched between Poland, Lithuania, and the Baltic Sea.
It stated that a nuclear assault could destroy Berlin in 106 seconds, Paris in 200 seconds, and London in 202 seconds. Putin has ordered his military to test-fire its Sarmat missiles in reaction to ongoing western backing for Ukraine.
The UK and other western nations have been supplying the invading country with equipment, military vehicles, and weaponry. Putin declared only last week that his country's hypersonic missiles could break through all current defenses and that they would be ready to lay siege to the United Kingdom by autumn.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began in late February, is already well into its third month. Since the crisis began, there have been increasing fears that it would draw other countries into it, according to Mirror.
Vladimir Putin Previously Brags About Successful Sarmat Missile Testing
During the program, Aleksey Zhuravlyov, the chairman of the nationalist Rodina party, stated that Russia just needs to launch one Sarmat missile at the UK to destroy the British Isles. A graphic appeared on television at this moment, and the hosts described how it would only take minutes for a Sarmat missile to be launched in Kaliningrad and target cities like London, Paris, and Berlin.
Russia successfully tested its Sarmat missile last week, and Putin boasted that it is the world's most sophisticated and capable of defeating all contemporary anti-missile defense systems. This completely original weapon will boost our armed forces' fighting capabilities, secure Russia's security from foreign threats, and make those who try to attack our nation in the heat of hostile rhetoric think twice, he added, according to News Hub.
On Russia's Victory Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin might proclaim "we are now at war with the world's Nazis," Wallace told LBC that he would not be astonished if Putin used Russia's May 9 commemorations of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany to mass mobilize the Russian people against the rest of the globe. He believes Putin may demand that more individuals join the Russian attack to spread the conflict beyond the Ukrainian stage.
On May 9, Russia celebrates Victory Day, the country's major public holiday and a source of national pride. The parade featured around 12,000 soldiers, 190 pieces of equipment, and 80 military jets last year.
There are fears that Putin may exploit the celebrations to launch a large-scale attack, mobilizing more soldiers. According to intelligence from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian command has been urging its forces that the conflict in Ukraine must conclude in time for the parade, Express reported.
