No. 22 Ohio State (19-5) heads into Tuesday's contest looking for their fourth straight win. Their last win, a 67-49 rout of Purdue, helped push the Buckeyes back into the top-25 and a win over Michigan could push the Buckeyes even further up the rankings ahead of March.
"This is a big one for us," Junior center Amir Williams said, via ESPN. "We just have to be ready to play. We can't come out lackadaisical, come out like it's just some other game. It's a priority to build our standing in the Big Ten and help our place in the Big Ten tournament."
Ohio State also expects a raucous atmosphere on Tuesday when they host their rival, Michigan.
"The fans get a little more excited about it," senior guard Aaron Craft said. "It's always great to feed off your own fans' energy. There's people out there camping outside right now in this weather. That makes you want to play a little harder."
No. 15 Michigan, meanwhile, have been uneven since Indiana snapped their ten-game winning streak on Feb. 2. Since the loss to the Hoosiers, the Wolverines (17-6) have split their last two games, including an 85-67 loss on Saturday to Iowa.
"One of the good things in basketball is sometimes you play two or three games in a week," Michigan coach John Beilein said. "And one of the bad things in basketball is that sometimes you play two or three games in a week. You can get over a loss, or you get your momentum going. But for repair or rest, there isn't a lot of time."
