Oklahoma State (16-7) will be without star Marcus Smart on Tuesday when they travel to Austin, Texas. Smart, who leads the Cowboys in scoring with 17.5 points per game, will serve the first game of his three-game suspension for an altercation on Saturday with a Texas Tech fan.

Smart accepted responsibility for the physical confrontation and apologized.

"This is not how I conduct myself," Smart said, via ESPN. "This is not how the program is run. This is not how I was raised. I let my emotions get the best of me. It's something I'll have to learn from, a lesson I'll have to learn from. The consequences that are coming with it - I'm taking full responsibility. No fingers pointing - this is all upon me."

Senior guard Markel Brown, the team's second-highest scorer with 16.6 points per game, will be tasked with carrying the offensive burden in Smart's absence.

Unfortunately for the Longhorns (18-5), they will also be without their leading scorer. Junior forward Jonathan Holmes will be sidelined on Tuesday with a right knee injury, according to the Dallas Morning News. Holmes, who leads No. 19 Texas with 13.1 points per game, suffered the injury in the first half of Saturday's loss to Kansas State.

Longhorns coach Rick Barnes, however, blamed his team's poor shot selection for their 74-57 loss to Kansas State.

"I was baffled by some of the things that we did," Barnes said. "We were not shooting the ball well."
