CNN+ employees from a short-lived cable news service were fired after it did not pan out as expected, not having more than enough subscribers

CNN, which has backed US President Joe Biden, had hyped this online service which allegedly added to the humiliation of its employee getting sacked from their jobs. Fox News and conservative media had a field day parodying the fall of the news service.

CNN+ Short-Lived Network

After CNN and its ratings fell, the news service got snubbed by most subscribers; it got worse, and the media company went through another embarrassment, reported the Blaze.

The news service would charge $6 a month for all takes, which was launched exactly on March 29 and lasted till April 28.

According to the New York Post, the network spent $300 million on promoting and launching their 'sure ball' product that failed expectations. Extra expenses of $100 to $200 million to promote their new media, which only got as many as 5,000 to 10,000 views per day.

The service had 700 employees for its launching in March. According to one source, 350 people will be laid off, however, the company plans that many of those employees will find new jobs at the company.

They will be absorbed into CNN or fill open positions at Discovery-owned channels like the HBO Max streaming service.

One of the fired CNN+ employees formerly of the cable news service, per Insider, recalls how it was to be fired after a short time on the job. It was shocking to find out about getting sacked, and roommates were shocked after telling them, the fired employee recalls.

One week after, workers were out of a job with the failed streaming services owned by the main company Warner Bros. Discovery. They got welcome baskets, ironically, cited the Wall Street Journal.

Packed in the baskets are branded gifts that include pens, food containers, popcorn machines, and headphones in the welcome pack.

There was a welcome note to make matters worse for the service's laid-off employees who couldn't make it through a month. It stated that it would be good to be part of CNN, make connections and have relationships with co-workers, and have the best way of time.

One outlet said that the baskets were sent to the fired personnel by error.

CNN Network Spends Money To Party Down Instead

The network didn't have money to retain workers but had enough cash to throw a "Political Hangover" brunch to end the weekend of White House correspondents. It irritated an ex-employee who found out about the extra expense.

The hangover brunch lived up to the hype, including a bloody Mary station, an Aperol Spritz bar, and a coffee bar serving lattes inscribed with the CNN logo.

Attending the bash are well known CNN personalities with Jake Tapper, Dana Bash, Jim Acosta, Brian Stelter, Don Lemon, Melanie Zanona, Priscilla álvarez, Daniella Díaz, Melissa Macaya, and Maegan Vázquez.

It only made a fire employee fume and told Radar Online how indifferent the management was in how they spend funds, called the CNN very amazing.

All fired CNN+ employees who were part of the failed cable news service got shocked with the welcome basket, but more so the money on bashes for its personalities.
