Donald Trump has called out the allegations from Hillary Clinton's former campaign manager that she agreed to send unsubstantiated evidence linking him to a Russian bank one of the worst political scandals in history.

"Where do I get my reputation back?" Trump asked.

Hillary Clinton Approves Trump-Russia Leak to Media

The former president made the remarks after former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann was charged with lying to the FBI and is being tried as part of a three-year investigation into Trump's links to Russia. Mook said on Friday that Clinton agreed to disclose with a writer soon before the 2016 election since-discredited accusations of a hidden backchannel between a Trump Organization server and Russia's Alfa Bank.

He then attacked his opponent, Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, as well as his former attorney general, Bill Barr. Sussmann is accused of fraudulently denying working for Clinton's campaign when he provided the FBI with data reportedly linking Trump to the bank.

The feds then launched an investigation into alleged Trump-Russia election meddling. Former FBI general counsel James Baker testified Thursday that the investigation might have lasted up to a month and a half, according to the New York Post.

Allegations Promoted To Sway Voters Away From Donald Trump

When the article broke, Clinton campaign senior policy advisor Jake Sullivan issued a statement saying, "This might be the most direct link yet between Donald Trump and Moscow." Computer specialists have discovered a hidden server that connects the Trump Organization to a Russian bank. The narrative, which was aggressively promoted on Clinton's social media only days before the election, has been interpreted as an attempt to persuade voters away from Trump.

Former FBI general counsel James Baker testified on Thursday that he was 100% convinced that when Sussman approached him with information on Trump he told him he wasn't working for a client. Sussman has entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.

Trump, for one, has long dismissed suspicions of Russian involvement as a contrived witch hunt. The FBI eventually found that the material Sussman supplied demonstrated that there was nothing there to criminally link him to Moscow, as per Newsweek. In September 2016, James Baker was the FBI's general counsel when Sussmann booked a meeting to give him computer data that Sussmann said suggested a potential covert communication.

Sussmann is accused of deceiving Baker at that meeting by claiming he was not delivering the computer data on behalf of a specific customer. Prosecutors claim Sussmann withheld information regarding his Clinton connections because he believed the FBI would see the evidence as less trustworthy if it suspected it was offered with a political motivation.

The Sussmann case was launched by John Durham, the special counsel appointed by the Trump administration to examine alleged government malfeasance during the early days of the investigation into Russian election meddling and any links to the Trump campaign.

Defense counsel has denied that Sussmann lied during the meeting and has indicated that prosecutors would be unable to establish what he said because only Baker and Sussmann were there and neither took notes, Daily Mail reported.
