Kate Moss, Johnny Depp's ex-girlfriend, testified via video connection in the libel trial involving the actor and his ex-wife Amber Heard.
As the trial wound down and the moment approached when the jury would be tasked with deciding whether Johnny Depp abused Amber Heard, she abused him, or mutual abuse occurred, lawyers on each side of the defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard worked on Wednesday to undermine the credibility of the other.
Kate Moss Says Johnny Depp Never Pushed or Kicked Her
Johnny Depp's defense team presented testimony from a former girlfriend, British model Kate Moss, to refute a claim Heard had referred to earlier in court that Johnny Depp had shoved Kate Moss down the stairs in the 1990s. In 2016, Ms. Heard's team approached Johnny Depp with a series of text conversations in which he appeared to use nasty language about women, saying that Ms. Heard was yearning for utter worldwide disgrace.
Benjamin Chew, a lawyer for Johnny Depp, questioned Kate Moss in reaction to detail from Amber Heard's evidence earlier in the trial. Heard reported a battle in 2015 in which she hit Depp because he swiped at her sister as she was standing at the top of a stairwell.
Kate Moss denies that Johnny Depp ever shoved her down the stairs. Moss spoke briefly via video conference to the jury in Fairfax County, Va., about tumbling down the steps at a Jamaican resort during their relationship, which she claimed lasted from 1994 to 1998.
Amber Heard had previously mentioned the rumor in testimony in an earlier trial in the United Kingdom in 2020, which was also linked to the question of whether Johnny Depp had physically mistreated his wife. In that instance, Johnny Depp sued a British tabloid firm and its editor after a headline in The Sun daily referred to him as a wife abuser. The court, in that case, determined that Johnny Depp had regularly attacked Amber Heard throughout their marriage and had made her fear for her life, New York Times reported.
Kate Moss was dubbed a "Queen" after being summoned to testify in Johnny Depp's $50 million libel suit against ex-wife Amber Heard. Following Kate's evidence, which lasted only a few minutes before being dismissed by the court, with Amber's attorneys refusing the opportunity to cross-examine her, supporters of the model flocked to social media to applaud what she said and how she said it.
Naomi Campbell, a fellow modeling legend, was among many who shared an article about Kate's testimony. Others admired Kate for being composed during her interrogation, according to Mirror.

Fans Urge Hate Moss, Johnny Depp's Romance To Reignite
After she testified in her ex's $100 million defamation suit against Amber Heard, social media erupted with rumors that the '90s pair may reconnect. Many social media users are certain that the couple, who was Hollywood's 'it' couple from 1994 to 1998, will rekindle their romance.
The internet was swamped with messages from captivated Twitter users who referred to Moss as Depp's 'true love.' One said Depp 'lit up when he saw Moss on the screen, while another asked if they still had romantic emotions for each other.
Others believed that if they didn't, the court battle would rekindle their love for one another and launch a 25-year-long reconciliation. The actor, 58, and the British businesswoman were together for little over three years in the 1990s, and when Depp abandoned Moss to focus solely on his work, she confessed she was sad for years.
When she took the stand in court to defend her ex, she looked to have nothing but warm sentiments for him, beaming at the mere mention of her prior love with the movie star. Depp battled to keep his smile contained as she talked to the courtroom about their '90s relationship.
Many observers of the trial, which is being livestreamed online, saw the exes' cheerful compositions during the hearing, and many began to advise that the duo start dating again. As per Daily Mail, Moss and Depp began dating after meeting in a New York City café. As two of Hollywood's top personalities, the stars' high-profile affair rapidly became one of the most talked-about couples of the time.
Moss had nothing but wonderful things to say about her ex when they separated, telling Vanity Fair that no one took care of her like Depp. She did, however, concede that losing him was difficult.
