A former Soviet Russia scientist described in terrifying detail how the country's prior bioweapons ambition led to considerable research into deploying monkeypox against its opponents, investigations that may have continued even after the USSR disintegrated.

According to the UK Health Security Agency, another 71 cases of monkeypox were discovered in England over the weekend, increasing the total number of cases in the UK to 190.

Soviet Scientist: Russia Planned To Use Monkeypox as Bioweapon

Anyone infected with the virus, which spreads by "direct contact with a confirmed case, droplets, or contaminated surfaces and objects," is recommended to avoid sexual activity while experiencing symptoms and to use protection for the next eight weeks. While the danger to the general public is negligible, the UKHSA advises that new rashes or lesions be monitored, as per Daily Express.

Monkeypox was initially identified in 1958, when two outbreaks of a pox-like disease occurred in study colonies of monkeys, thus the name. It comes from a group of about 12 West African and Central African countries.

While it has maintained a low profile in recent decades, terrifying archive reports of an interview with Dr. Ken Alibek, a former Soviet scientist, have reappeared with its resurgence. He said in 1998 that the country had started looking into deploying monkeypox as a bioweapon earlier that decade.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has cautioned that the 250 cases of monkeypox discovered in 20 nations are only the beginning. This WHO warning emphasizes the severity of the monkeypox outbreak. The Russian Defense Ministry has leveled an even more severe allegation, Newscast reported.

The Monkeypox was allegedly disseminated from four US Biolabs in Nigeria, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Russia has requested that the WHO investigate the situation.

This significant charge has been leveled by Igor Kirillov, the chief of the Russian Defense Ministry's "Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Troupes." The allegations leveled by Kirillov were reported by the Russian news source Sputnik.

According to the World Health Organization, monkeypox originated in Nigeria. "It is not a coincidence that the United States has at least four Biolabs working in Nigeria. These Biolabs are where the monkeypox began," Kirillov said.

Kirillov urged that this be treated as a serious concern and that the WHO should look into it. It has already been revealed that the US does not take the necessary safety procedures to control the threat presented by these Biolabs. Kirillov said that the United States' biological agency is ineffective. Even terrorists, according to Kirillov, can take advantage of this leniency.

Russia Might Hit US With Just 2 Missiles

Meanwhile, hosts on Russian state television issued the latest in a long line of threats on Monday, claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin could "destroy the entire east coast of the United States" with just two missiles.

Per The Sun, a member of Russia's parliament boasts about the country's military might in video from the country's flagship propaganda show, before labeling 2 million Ukrainians as "incurable."

Alexie Zhuravlev, a politician, was joined on the chat program by Yevgeny Popov, the host of the Rossiya 1 channel show, a fellow MP and Russian state mouthpiece. The politician said that two Russian Sarmat 'Satan 2' missiles could destroy the whole east coast of the United States before adding that "two missiles for the west coast" would suffice.

The 208 ton RS-28 Sarmat missile, also called as the 'Satan 2,' stands at the gigantic height of a 14-story tower block and is capable of striking targets at around 16,000mph. The world-ending nuclear weapon can also carry 15 bombs and can devastate an area the size of the United Kingdom in a single blow.

Putin's allies believe the Russian military has up to 50 Sarmat missiles in its arsenal and have even threatened to use them to drown the United Kingdom in a radioactive wave. The 15 nuclear warheads aboard the Sarmat missile are each over 100 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb unleashed on Hiroshima during World War 2. Putin also claimed that his Satan 2 missiles are capable of "breaking through all contemporary anti-missile defenses."

While such warnings have been more regular on Russian propaganda shows since the invasion of Ukraine, the prospect of mutually assured annihilation mitigates most of the risk. Along with threatening to destroy the United States with nuclear weapons, the frightening discussion also touched on the conflict in Ukraine, with the hosts repeating the invasion's "nazification" motif.
