Russia's President Vladimir Putin has brazenly asserted that he now must retake and strengthen Ukraine, appearing to finally concede that the invasion was about reclaiming Russian territory.
The Russian warrior held meetings with young entrepreneurs and professionals in Moscow before the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, in which he compared himself to Peter the Great, the 18th-century Russian king who waged war on Sweden.
Putin Compares Himself to Peter The Great
Until now, Putin and his propagandists have used everything from a phantom NATO threat to neo-Nazis he falsely claimed had overtaken Ukraine as justifications for his unjustified and brutal invasion of Russia's neighbors.
However, after more than 100 days of fighting, Putin has publicly said that he is restoring land to Russia. Peter the Great was the Russian monarch in the early 18th century, and many believe his expansionist ambitions and military reforms helped Russia become the powerful country it is today.
Putin frequently praises Peter for conquering land and power for Russia, claiming that he laid the basis for Russia to become a global superpower. He went on to declare that the European Union is a colonial of the United States and that no nation can be both sovereign and a colony at the same time.
The savage then stated that even a historical organization like the EU has little chance of surviving in such a difficult geopolitical war. Putin stated that despite the West's reduced reliance on the Russian energy supply, Russian enterprises will not shut down their oil wells, Mirror reported.
Putin's Bizarre Public Appearance
Following a string of losses in the war he launched in Ukraine in late February, Putin's forces have allegedly achieved greater success in recent weeks by focusing on smaller towns and villages in eastern Ukraine. However, there have been several reports of the Russian troops withdrawing from some locations.
Putin said he convened the gathering of young minds ahead of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum because he wanted to hear thoughts on "where we are now, where we are heading, and what we need to do to secure our absolute and unconditional success" benefiting Russia.
A Belarussian reporter, Tadeusz Giczan, stated that Putin inserted an additional sentence in his biography of Peter the Great that was not included in the Kremlin's translation of his remarks. Putin also made statements on military-political sovereignty that may be seen as referring to Ukraine elsewhere, according to Newsweek via MSN.
According to a body language expert Judi James, Putin exhibited his strangely hilarious side in a startling exhibition at a Q&A event. The warmonger appeared to welcome the opportunity to show a different side of himself.
She described his demeanor as arrogant, implying that he finds irony or sarcasm in the present global disaster he has produced. His smiles, nods, and gesticulations appeared to contradict some of his frightening remarks about the scenario, she noted.
Given what is happening in Ukraine, James said Putin's warmth and humor appeared chilling. The expert also commented on how Putin's body language squared up with current rumors about his ill health, which is thought to be cancer, Parkinson's disease, or both, and Western intelligence sources have claimed that he recently underwent surgery, as per Daily Star.
