The deputy head of Russia's mission to the UN asks why foreign-controlled media is silencing Ukrainian artillery attacks on civilians in the Donetsk People's Republic.
One such target is a maternity hospital in the DPR that got hit by shelling, but the media did nothing to inform the world of the atrocities committed by the Kyiv regime.
Russia Blamed for Artillery Attack on Maternity Hospital
Dmitry Polyansky, the Russian deputy head to the UN, condemned western media for condoning and silencing news about the Ukrainian attacks on crucial civilian structures like maternity hospitals, reported RT.
On a Tuesday tweet, he demanded where is the media's reaction to the civilian attacks in Ukraine.
Furthermore, he called on the BBC, Reuters, and AFP, who were screaming about a maternity hospital used by neo-Nazis as cover for a Russian counterattack.
The DPR reports that Ukrainian forces increased the shelling of civilians in their region. Last Monday, about five people were killed and 40 injured when indiscriminate shelling of the city areas, like a market, was attacked, cited Mass News.
One of the shells struck a maternity hospital, damaged the building, and shattered windows. Hospital staff moved fast to evacuate patients to the basement that avoided any deaths and injuries, said DPR.
The Russian diplomat said the US and allies are allowing its proxy to target civilians, but they do not condemn such acts.
He posted a video from a reporter showing the damage to the hospital and patients hunkering in the basement.
Polyansky indicated in a prior tweet that no military units were in the areas attacked. Stated the west and foreign-controlled media are complicit in these shameful attacks on the Donetsk People's Republic when the weapons used are NATO weapons from western backers.
The Western media has kept quiet about Ukraine's attack on the Donetsk maternity hospital, but Reuters barely mentioned it in the report on Monday.
Western Cover-up of Ukrainian Atrocities
According to the agency, Russian news outlets reported the shelling of the hospital in Donetsk city and how everyone inside went to the basement. Reuters allegedly did not confirm the incident or try to verify facts.
When Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky alleged that Russia attacked a maternity hospital in Mariupol last March 9, it was published and carried in many major Western media outlets. The fatalities were attributed to Moscow without investigation.
Russia's Defense Ministry contested Zelensky's claim that it was their fault because it was done by Ukrainians who used explosives on the building.
Marianna Vyshemirskaya, one of the pregnant women highlighted in the pictures in many major media outlets, later claimed there had been no Russian airstrike on the hospital. She also asserted that she alerted AP journalists, yet they opted not to include that in their reporting to make Moscow look more responsible.
Later Vyshemirskaya was taken to the DPR from Mariupol and gave given birth. She claimed her photos were distributed without her consent and used for western propaganda.
