Gabrielle Union revealed on the "Arsenio Hall" show that she is making her fiancé Dwyane Wade sign a prenup. The "Being Mary Jane" star, who has been married before, explained that a prenup was her idea because she feels the need to "protect her stuff."
"For this marriage, the biggest difference between this and the last marriage will be a prenup. At my insistence. At my insistence," she told Arsenio Hall. "When you have your own stuff, you don't need to worry about anyone else's stuff. So everyone should go into the relationship knowing, 'I'm here for you and you're here for me.' And the reality is I've never seen Dwyane balance a checkbook, so I gotta protect my stuff... It's the wave of the future."
The couple, who got engaged in December, has already dealt with their share of controversy. Shortly after Wade proposed to Union, reports surfaced that the Miami Heat star had fathered a baby with another woman.
Wade addressed the claims saying that he and Union were on a break at the time but he thought the baby was a "blessing" that came out of a difficult time. The 41-year-old actress has not addressed the fact that Wade has a brand new baby but did open up about her relationship to Glamour magazine.
"I'd always wanted an awesome career with back-to-back projects, but I realized I wasn't willing to sacrifice my relationship for it. Moving forward, I decided my work schedule has to make sense for our family," she said. "Bottom line: If an issue's a deal breaker, it's a deal breaker. If your relationship isn't something you're willing to give up and you can compromise, do so."
While appearing on the "Arsenio Hall" show, the actress also talked about wedding planning revealing that she doesn't want any bridesmaids.
"Trying to rangle a bunch of broads - somebody wants one kind of dress, somebody wants something else... We're older, this is the second time around, you know, it's us and the kids just riding out. Just us," she said.
Union also revealed that her guest list is going to be super exclusive.
"There's a lot of people that think they're coming. And they're not. It's bad," she told Hall adding that her fiancé is "the executioner. He's like, Let's go through your list... Absolutely not.' Yeah, if you're not about us and we don't both have a relationship with you, you're not gonna make it."
