Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, stated on Tuesday that he is still undecided about whether he would support former President Donald Trump if he ran for president again in 2024.
Musk, 50, has recently been vocal about his political beliefs. The billionaire has increased his criticism of the Democratic Party, revealing this week that he is considering backing Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in 2024.
Elon Musk Isn't Sure if He Will Support Donald Trump
When asked if he would vote for Donald Trump if he were to be named the Republican presidential contender in 2024, Elon Musk stated he had not made up his mind, NY Psot reported.
While Elon Musk declined to comment on Donald Trump as a prospective political candidate in the future, the billionaire enraged opponents in May when he claimed that if his $44 billion plan to purchase Twitter succeeds, he would lift the former president's account's permanent suspension.
Trump has yet to indicate if he would run for office in 2024. Apart from endorsing DeSantis, Musk predicted a "massive red wave" in the 2022 midterm elections for Republicans. He mentioned that he had voted for the first time in his life for a Republican candidate, Mayra Flores, in the special election for Texas' 34th Congressional District.
Per Daily Mail, DeSantis made a jest about Musk's prospective support during a conference in Madeira Beach on Wednesday, playing off the billionaire's South African roots. The well-timed comment elicited applause from the audience and fueled speculation about DeSantis' presidential ambitions.

Elon Musk Moves to Political Right
DeSantis has emerged as a prominent figure in the ongoing culture conflicts between the woke Left and those with alternative political beliefs, prompting the surprising support.
DeSantis, a conservative renowned for his anti-woke political ideas, has yet to declare a presidential run for 2024, but is largely expected to do so. He was chastised earlier this year for passing a parental rights measure into law prohibiting public schools from teaching about gender identity and sexual orientation to children under the age of ten, dubbed the 'Don't Say Gay Bill' by the Left.
Meanwhile, Musk, a fervent libertarian and businessman who has seen his fortune rise as a result of the pandemic, has shown a move to the political right after being hailed by progressives as a new breed of hip businessman.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk issued an email to colleagues about needing to make job cutbacks, and the note mentioned that he felt "super bad" about the world economy. According to him, two-thirds of Tesla's 100,000 employees are paid hourly and one-third are salaried.
Elon Musk did say, though, that the company's workforce will be larger in a year, in both salaried and hourly personnel. Two former Tesla employees filed a complaint against a Texas-based auto manufacturer on Sunday, saying that the corporation violated federal regulations regarding "mass layoffs," according to Newsweek via MSN.
