Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito blasted Jonathan Martin on Wednesday in a series of Twitter posts. Incognito, who was suspended amidst accusations of bullying, also claimed Martin said he thought about committing suicide because "he wasn't playing well."
Incognito seemingly vented his frustration on Wednesday in a string of tweets directed at Martin.
Incognito's tweets come almost two weeks after his attorney, Mark Schamel, accused Martin of sending equally as vulgar text messages to Incognito. Schamel had also said Martin confided in Incognito concerns about his poor performance on the field.
"(Martin told Incognito) that he was not playing well, about how upset he was at being ranked by Pro Football Focus as among the worst linemen in the NFL, about his poor performance on the field, his demotion to right tackle and how he was concerned about what the outcome might be for his missing team meetings and, about how he felt his job was at risk," Schamel said in a statement released on Jan. 30, via ESPN.
More than 1,000 text messages, purportedly exchanged between Incognito and Martin, obtained by USA Today Sports and released on Feb. 4 also appear to validate Incognito's long-standing claim of the two being close friends.
