Only one month after his opulent wedding to reality star Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Los Angeles Sunday night.
Travis Barker, the drummer for Blink 182, was carried into an ambulance and rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles Friday night due to an unidentified health problem. Following the incident, Travis Barker pleaded for help on Twitter, writing, "God save me," while his wife Kourtney Kardashian, 43, kept watch next to him.
Travis Barker's Daughter Asks For Prayer
Online followers have questioned whether the tweet "God save me" was a deliberate allusion to a song by Machine Gun Kelly, a close buddy who is dating actress Megan Fox. The lyrics of the song of the same name show a 16-year-old orphan child who is dealing with mental health problems. The lyrics make reference to drug abuse, phone tapping, and "mental imbalance." It is unknown if Travis Barker's tweet is related to the song in any way, Daily Express reported.
When Travis Barker was going through his medical fight, his son Landon Asher Barker, 18, was playing onstage in New York with Machine Gun Kelly. Afterwards, Landon posted a cover of the band's song "Die in California" to Instagram. Fans have expressed their hopes and prayers for Travis Barker' health in the interim. The Blink 182 fan's final Instagram picture before leaving for the hospital shows him sulking while holding a puppy, with the remark, "I love dogs more than people."
Per Newsweek via MSN, fans expressed their concern over the tweet and wondered whether the musician was going through a difficult period at the time it was posted. Those worries increased as soon as word of his hospitalization spread. Others fans, however, pointed out that his pal Machine Gun Kelly's single on his most recent album, Mainstream Sellout, also uses such phrases as its title. On the track, Barker is credited as a co-writer and co-producer.
Following news of Barker's hospitalization, his 16-year-old daughter Alabama Luella Barker, whom he has with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler, sent a message on her Instagram Story asking for prayers. A screenshot showing what looked to be Travis Barker on a gurney with a woman holding his hand was published by journalist Jessie Lynch of the Australian media outlet Are Media. He was seen clutching a smartphone in his other hand.
"Please say a prayer," was added as a caption to the TikTok upload, which looks to have since been removed. Kardashian, who wed Travis Barker in a lavish wedding in Italy in May, hasn't commented on the rumored hospitalization of her spouse on social media. Machine Gun Kelly, actual name Colson Baker, invited Travis Barker's 18-year-old son Landon Barker onto the stage at his sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City hours before the reports surfaced.
Landon Barker, who also uploaded video of the stage performance on his Instagram account, has not made any public statements regarding the alleged hospitalization of his father. Hours after his health crisis, Travis Barker's daughter Alabama posted an unsettling image of the rock star in the hospital. When Travis Barker was lying in what seemed to be an emergency department bed, she posted a picture of herself holding his hand.
The picture obscured his face, but he looked to be dressed in a medical gown and was wrapped in a blanket. He had a splint around his bandaged left hand. There were no 911 calls made from the houses of Travis or Kourtney on Tuesday, June 28, according to a Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station spokesperson who verified this to The Sun.
Travis Barker's Previous Fatal Accident
A few weeks ago, Travis caused alarm among supporters when he was seen wearing a splint as a result of an injury. While walking around Beverly Hills with Kourtney Kardashian, he was wearing a brace on his left hand. Travis Barker experienced a terrifying plane accident fourteen years ago that almost cost him his life, leaving him with serious burns and PTSD.
Along with his assistant Chris Baker, the security officer Charles "Che" Still, and his close friend Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, he was a passenger on the ill-fated aircraft on September 19, 2008. On the Learjet 60 that crashed in South Carolina shortly after takeoff, Chris, Che, and two other pilots all perished. DJ AM struggled to deal with the effects of the terrible incident and overdosed over a year after the disaster.
The National Transportation Safety Board's report, which was the result of an inquiry, blamed the disaster on tire bursts during takeoff and the pilot's choice to abort at a high speed, which was not advised for the aircraft. Travis Barker suffered third-degree burns over 65 percent of his body as a result of the crash.
