According to a source, Ghislaine Maxwell will ask to be moved to a British jail after serving three years of her sentence.
The convicted sex trafficker must spend the first three years in the United States under US law, but she can then petition to relocate closer to her family. According to a Telegraph, the 60-year-old, who holds British, French, and US citizenship, will file a formal application to spend the majority of her 20-year term in the UK.
She has already been detained for two years, which a court may consider time served. The convicted trafficker is anticipated to file an appeal. Throughout her trial, Maxwell's siblings have continuously stood unified in favor of their disgraced sister, blaming Jeffrey Epstein for "drawing her into his web" and criticizing the circumstances she was exposed to behind bars.
Outside court yesterday, her brother Kevin said they had nothing to add to Ghislaine Maxwell's passionate statement in court and said she will be appealing her conviction and sentence. Throughout her trial, her family has attended either together or separately and has stood by her in a resolute display of family support, despite the danger of ruining her reputations by not denouncing her over her relationship with Epstein.
Ian Maxwell has claimed that his 60-year-old sister has been harmed by the US judicial system and will spend decades in prison due to unfounded claims. He defends his sister's innocence, claiming she could have escaped to France, which has no extradition relationship with the US but chose to remain in the UK and face authorities since she has a clear conscience. Ian stated in January that he did not expect Ghislaine would 'flip' and assist prosecutors in convicting those connected to Epstein, as per Daily Mail.
The fallen socialite faces various obstacles, including the likelihood that American officials would thwart her ambitions since she has "no automatic right to move." The US Government may refuse to allow her to return to the UK, and her victims are certain to oppose it.
Sarah Ransome, who revealed two suicide attempts after being abused by Epstein and Maxwell in her impact statement read in court on Tuesday, said the Brit should never be allowed free.
Maxwell was guilty of sex trafficking juveniles, conspiracy to persuade a kid to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, and conspiracy to transfer a minor with the purpose to engage in criminal sexual behavior for her former partner Jeffrey Epstein in December of last year. She was also convicted of conveying a kid with the purpose to engage in illegal sexual behavior and conspiracy to commit minor sex trafficking, as per Mirror.

Jeffrey Epstein's Victim Not Convinced With Ghislaine Maxwell's Apology
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Epstein victim Annie Farmer chastised British ex-socialite Ghislaine Maxwell in court for her phony apologies to victims. Farmer, one of Epstein's victims, testified during Maxwell's trial and broke her silence on "CBS Mornings" Wednesday to discuss her thoughts on the trial and react to the punishment.
Farmer told presenter Gayle King that she gave her victim impact statement to the court in the hopes that she would weigh the long-term consequences of Epstein and Maxwell's sexual assault offenses. Epstein's survivor cited Maxwell's blatant lack of remorse for her wrongdoings as one of the most disturbing elements of the trial, saying her continued deception and the tireless efforts channeled into fighting for justice created a "black hole" for victims like herself.
She expressed surprise that Maxwell spoke after her punishment, echoing the amazement expressed by others concerned, particularly upon hearing Maxwell's apologies. Farmer, who entered the stand and testified publicly during the trial after prior accusers used pseudonyms, said she tried multiple times throughout her impact statement to make eye contact with Maxwell, but her perpetrator continued to turn away, Fox News reported.
