Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's next legal chapter appears to be starting shortly.

Heard and her counsel are back in Fairfax County Circuit Court after a three-month legal struggle. A seven-member jury in Fairfax court last month sided with Johnny in the $ 50 million defamation lawsuit, agreeing that Amber and her op-ed published in the Washington Post had slandered not just Depp's image but also his career.

Why Does Amber Heard Want To Overturn Verdict?

Now, Heard's counsel has asked the court to reject the jury's decision and the $10.35 million in damages given to Johnny Depp by the jury, claiming that the verdict is not supported by evidence.

The attorneys have requested the court in a 43-page petition to examine inappropriate juror service by asking for their year of birth and if they were adequately vetted before being placed on the jury panel.

During the verdict, the court stated that both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had defamed each other; but in the end, they took Depp's side, claiming that he had been defamed more. As a result, the actor was awarded $10.35 million, but now the attorney has stated that the award was inconsistent and irreconcilable, according to WIO News.

Johnny Depp won his trial against Amber Heard, which is a cause for celebration; but the translator of Captain Jack Sparrow must now pay $38,000 for papers he requested as evidence in the trial.

Amber Heard Fails To Privately Meet Johnny Depp

Depp requested some papers from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU); because these are official records, they have a fee, and the Hollywood star must pay the archive $38,000 for the requested copies.

According to a document, the organization initially requested just over $86,000 in fees for the search of approximately 1,900 documents over six years, arguing that it was a significant expense used to respond to the onerous subpoenas filed by Mr. Depp in an underlying action to which neither the ACLU nor any of its employees are parties, Marca reported.

El Nacional reports that the actress demanded a meeting with Depp to renegotiate the sum. Heard requested a reduction in the ten million and three hundred thousand dollar fine imposed by the jury for defaming Depp. According to the story, the former spouses were unable to strike an agreement at the private meeting, prompting Heard to urge her team to appeal to the trial judge.

Following a brief hearing in Fairfax County Court, which none of those concerned attended, Heard's team has chosen to file an appeal since they were unable to reach an agreeable solution despite the presence of their attorneys. Both parties will have 30 days to file an appeal before the matter is heard by the Virginia Court of Appeals.

Previously, when Heard's lawyer Elaine Bredehoft was asked on the Today Show if the actress would be able to pay the sum awarded by the jury, she answered, "Oh no, definitely not." Judge Penney Azcarate informed Bredehoft that if she wanted to appeal the jury's verdict, she would have to submit papers with the court.

The court advised the counsel that Heard would be required to post an $8.35 million bail with a 6% annual interest rate before any appeal could be heard. Judge Azcarate entered Depp's decision in its entirety on paper, rejecting all of Heard's requested modifications. Depp's legal team did not seek an injunction, as per Meaww.
