Kaitlin Armstrong, a 34-year-old Texas woman suspected of assassinating love rival and professional cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson, is now the subject of a federal hold request while being held in an Austin jail on $3.5 million bail, according to court documents.

So, even if she could post bond, she'd be detained, according to former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani, who spoke to Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

Kaitlin Armstrong Charged in Death of Moriah Wilson

Federal detainers, according to the Justice Department, are legal letters advising one jurisdiction that an individual is facing outstanding charges in another. Armstrong is being jailed on state accusations of first-degree murder and theft of services in Austin, Texas. On the federal level, she's been charged with unauthorized flight to evade prosecution after fleeing for 43 days while identified in a murder investigation.

According to an Austin murder warrant, the former yoga instructor is suspected of stalking and killing Wilson on May 11. Her Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen on a security camera near the murder site shortly before the slaying, according to police.

As per the warrant, the Jeep arrived minutes after Armstrong's boyfriend, a 35-year-old fellow pro cyclist named Colin Strickland, left the 25-year-old Wilson off at her friend's apartment in Austin, Fox News reported.

Kaitlin Armstrong May Have Had Plastic Surgery

While on the run from murder accusations in connection with the death of professional cyclist Mo Wilson, Kaitlin Armstrong radically changed her look, maybe even undergoing cosmetic surgery. Armstrong's efforts to conceal her identity were clear. Her unique reddish curly hair had been colored dark and chopped shorter. According to Marshals Service and Homeland Security investigators, Armstrong boarded United Airlines Flight 1222 from Newark International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica, on May 18.

Deputy US Marshal Brandon Filla stated during a news conference last week that Armstrong resembled the person in the passport but did not explain how she got to have it. Armstrong was detained with bandages and bruises on her face, which Filla blamed on a surfing mishap.

Her booking photo reveals bruising around her eyes, and the tip of her nose seems smaller than in prior images. Inside Edition said that it examined a voucher discovered among Armstrong's stuff at the hostel where she was living; the receipt is for a cosmetic surgery center in San Rafael de Escazu, Costa Rica.

Meanwhile, a private investigator warned Kaitlyn Armstrong's friends and family members that if any of them were found to have made contact with the alleged killer during her escape, they may face criminal charges. Veteran private investigator Bill Warner said anyone in touch with Armstrong or knowing her locations throughout her time on the run might be prosecuted as an accessory if they failed to warn police before her apprehension, as per The Sun.

The USMS was approached by The US Sun for comment on whether or not investigators think Armstrong spoke with anybody during her time on the run. Three members of Armstrong's family have also yet to respond to a request for comment. Warner, a professional investigator for the previous 25 years, speculated that USMS had been watching Amstrong's parents, younger sister, and any close acquaintances in recent weeks, including their cellphone activities, according to Chron.
