When he arrived at Mount Sinai St. Luke's in an emergency, he was later pronounced dead by medical staff. Due to the child suspect's age, police hid his or her identification from the broader public. He was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he is being treated for stab wounds, according to the New York Post.
No new information about his condition had been provided as of Sunday, and the two friends had a protracted fight before the fatal stabbing. It is still unknown exactly what sparked the argument.
Reyes had already pushed the other child into the tracks of the Harlem subway station before being stabbed by the suspect. He attempted to escape, but he gave up and raced up the steps of the MTA subway station, according to the officials.
The suspect's return to the subway station from the rails is still a mystery, as is how he did it. A knife and a broomstick were reportedly taken away by authorities from the scene after the gruesome assault was documented on camera. The security video, which has not been made accessible to the public, was also crucial in identifying the offender. Police didn't recognize Reyes until Sunday, one day after the murder.
His family had only recently moved from Yonkers to Manhattan, according to neighbors who spoke with The Post. According to The Post, Reyes routinely played loud music inside his family's house, blasting melodies early in the morning and late at night. Additionally, Reyes has a sibling who aspires to be a rapper.
Additionally, neighbors told the media site that they repeatedly called the police to complain about the teen's disturbance. In February, Mayor Eric Adams called for the removal of rap videos employing the phrase 'drill' to battle or counterattack, which he claimed encouraged gun violence. He was made aware of the drill rap videos, which, in his opinion, promote killing, by his son Jordan Coleman, a Jay-Z employee, Daily Mail reported.

Mayor Eric Adams of the Bronx reaffirmed the necessity for the city to increase summer youth programming to keep teenagers occupied and off the streets. The MTA described the fatality as a tragic and senseless tragedy and stated that they are assisting the NYPD with their inquiry, according to Twitter.
This is just the most recent in a succession of violent crimes and assaults that have been committed on the New York City subway system recently. Alyssa Go, an Asian-American woman of 40, was fatally injured in a random attack in Times Square in January when a guy shoved her in front of a train.
A mass shooting on a subway train in Brooklyn's Sunset Park three months later resulted in 10 deaths, and the shooter fled on foot for several days. Fortunately, no one was fatally injured in the assault. Daniel Enriquez, 48, was then fatally assassinated in May while riding a train into Manhattan in broad daylight by a lone shooter, as per the Independent.
