Drake took to his official Twitter account to slam Rolling Stone magazine for allegedly making up quotes in his interview and pulling his cover at the last minute.
The newest February issue of the magazine features the late Philip Seymour Hoffman on the cover. The particular quote in question from the rapper's Rolling Stone interview was about Kanye West's album "Yeezus".
"There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that 'Swaghili' line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn't say some sh*t like that," Drake told Rolling Stone.
Drake claims he never commented about West's album while speaking with the Rolling Stone. The rapper wrote on Twitter:
"I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue. I'm disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil. I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately."
The rapper also stirred up controversy for his comments about Macklemore posting his text message apology to Kendrick Lamar for wining Best New Artist at the 2014 Grammy Music Awards.
"You got robbed," Macklemore wrote to his fellow nominee. "I wanted you to win."
Drake told Rolling Stone the apology was "wack as f***" and insincere.
"I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better - make better music,'" the rapper told the magazine. "It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?"
"This is how the world works: He made a brand of music that appealed to more people than me, Hov, Kanye and Kendrick," Drake added. "Whether people wanna say it's racial, or whether it's just the fact that he tapped into something we can't tap into. That's just how the cards fall. Own your s***."
