Senator Ron Johnson charged the FBI with serious prejudice on Sunday, citing whistleblower accusations that the bureau withheld damaging evidence regarding Hunter Biden.

The Wisconsin Republican told Fox & Friends that he had no trust in FBI Director Christopher Wray, whom Donald Trump selected to supervise anything involving President Joe Biden's son.

Sen. Johnson Criticizes FBI For Hunter Biden Bias Allegations

Meanwhile, the Justice Department is investigating Hunter Biden's offshore business transactions in a separate tax inquiry. On Tuesday, Johnson issued a letter to Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and other Justice Department officials, stating that the bureau went out of its way to 'improperly discount unfavorable Hunter Biden evidence as misinformation' to halt investigations against the president's son.

He said that the FBI hampered his August 2020 inquiry of Hunter Biden's overseas business connections. Johnson said that the FBI had 'done nothing with the alleged proof. Johnson's main worries revolve around an FBI briefing he got in August 2020 while he and colleague Republican Senator Chuck Grassley were investigating Hunter Biden at the time.

It comes after Grassley demanded on Monday that the agencies respond to similar charges against Hunter Biden in the run-up to the 2020 race. On Monday, Grassley stated that very credible whistleblowers had come forward claiming a systematic campaign inside the FBI to suppress bad material concerning President Joe Biden's son, Daily Mail reported.

Johnson used the whistleblower complaint to urge that the Justice Department conduct an internal inquiry or appoint a special counsel to investigate the handling of information concerning Hunter Biden.

Johnson Expects That Hunter Biden Indictment Will Be Concealed

The NY Post mined information found on Hunter Biden's laptop left behind at a computer repair shop in Delaware as the basis for a series of blockbuster exposes in October 2020 about the first son's shady business relationships in China and Ukraine, according to Johnson's letter.

Later articles in The Washington Post about Hunter Biden, who is being investigated in Delaware for possible tax evasion and money laundering in conjunction with his international business transactions, stated that he benefited from his father's influence. They also revealed that, contrary to popular belief, the president was aware of his son's financial dealings.

In accordance with Republican senator, Hunter Biden may be charged, but the public will never hear the full story. Prosecutors are considering charges for suspected tax evasion and giving a false statement in connection with the purchase of a handgun at a period when he should have been barred from doing so due to drug addiction. The government probe has reached a critical point, according to the latest deliberations, and the younger Biden has denied any misconduct, Washington Examiner via MSN reported.

Grassley recently announced that whistleblowers told him FBI officials were undermining or burying facts about Hunter Biden, incorrectly labeling verified evidence as disinformation, adding to the controversy surrounding the president's son. Although President Joe Biden has denied knowledge of his son's business dealings, Fox News reported on Thursday that the elder Biden met with at least 14 of Hunter Biden's business associates while he was vice president in the Obama administration.
