Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's defamation trial finished in June, but the matter is still making headlines. The current wave of interest stems from previously sealed documents being leaked on social media.

These are papers that Judge Penney Azcarate refused to accept into evidence in the case in which Depp sued ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation for a 2018 op-ed in which she characterized herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse (though she did not name Depp in the piece).

The jury awarded Depp $15 million (albeit it was reduced to $10.35 million according to Virginia law) after concluding that the op-ed defamed him and led him to lose his job, while the jury awarded Heard $2 million after concluding that Johnny Depp was accountable for false accusations made by his lawyer against her. They've both opted to challenge the jury's verdicts.

Over the weekend, about 6,000 pages of documents filed in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation action were unsealed. The documents disclose information about the former Hollywood marriage that was not allowed to be discussed during the trial. It demonstrates how both parties' legal teams argued over allowable evidence during the discovery period. The following are the most surprising revelations from the released documents.

Johnny Depp's Team Claims Amber Heard Is a Former Escort

According to leaked records, Johnny Depp wanted Amber Heard's background as an exotic dancer and accusations that she was an escort be brought up in court. Amber Heard suggested that some evidence, such as her therapist's notes, might have influenced the trial's decision.

The 'Aquaman' star's counsel said that Depp's attorneys sought to bring up irrelevant personal things such as Amber's brief stint as an exotic dancer years before she met Johnny Depp. According to Deadline, they said the charges that she was an escort were unfounded, inflammatory, irrelevant, and meant to intimidate and denigrate Amber Heard.

The proof of Heard's job as a stripper before making it in Hollywood or rumors that she was an escort early in her career, according to Depp's lawyers, were crucial.

Amber Heard Alleged Johnny Depp of Suffering From Erectile Dysfunction

As per Amber Heard's attorneys, Johnny Depp suffers from erectile difficulties, which may have contributed to his claimed bottle rape of his ex-wife. AmberHeard, 36, claimed at trial that Johnny Depp, 59, had entered her with a Maker's Mark bottle in a drug-fueled rage in Australia in 2015 while filming the fifth 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film.

The 'Aquaman' actress sobbed as she told jurors Depp pulled her across a shattered glass floor, bent her over a bar, and repeatedly put the bottle inside her during a three-day hostage scenario. Elaine Bredehoft, Heard's main attorney, stated in the motion, Depp's erectile dysfunction makes it more likely that Mr. Depp would be upset or disturbed in contacts with Amber Heard, and that he would turn to a bottle, Fox News reported.

Disturbing Texts with Marilyn Manson

While Depp's close connection with controversial shock musician Marilyn Manson came up frequently throughout the trial, the released records reveal that Depp's lawyers worked hard to keep text exchanges between them confidential, saying that it was an unjust attempt to depict Depp as guilty by association.

However, the now-unsealed March 28 motion revealed additional unsettling messages between Depp and Manson, who is presently suing his ex-girlfriend, actress Evan Rachel Wood, for defamation after she and others accused him of grooming and sexual assault.

Manson messaged Depp in 2016 about a lady called Lindsay, according to excerpts of the messages in the released court records. Manson is presently married to photographer Lindsay Usich.

The newly revealed records show that, while not always successful, Depp's attorneys worked hard to dissuade several of Heard's specialists from testifying. Although Elaine Barkin eventually testified, Depp's lawyers sought the court to prevent her from testifying because she claimed Depp tossed a bottle in her way during a dispute when they were dating in the 1990s.

They also attempted to keep heated messages between Depp and his actor pal Paul Bettany confidential, claiming the two were only joking when they discussed drowning Heard to know whether she was a witch, with Depp suggesting they also burn and mutilate her corpse, according to EW.
