Amid growing concerns about an impending attack on Taiwan, Chinese nuclear bombers have undertaken deadly military exercises. As China is said to be lagging its nuclear-capable H-6K bombers in preparation for an invasion, tensions in the area have apparently reached a boiling point.

The current uptick in tensions comes amid growing worries that Taiwan may soon be attacked, with China perhaps getting ready to use its lethal nuclear weapons. Communist Party troops are stepping up military training in the area, and experts estimate that for a full-scale invasion, the Chinese military would need to create over two million men.

China-Taiwan Tensions Increase

Previous footage of field hospital practice sessions aired by Chinese media suggests that country is geared up for large-scale casualties. The nuclear bomber simulations marked the end of four days of military training conducted in reaction to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, as per The Sun.

Due to the H-6K bombers' capacity to carry nuclear weapons, their usage represents a terrifying increase of regional tensions. According to the official Chinese media outlet Global Times, the training exercises served as a "deterrence mission" to undermine Taiwan's independence movement and "advance the reunification process."

The official communist party media also acknowledged that the terrifying nuclear bomber drills were intended to simulate "a potential actual operation." According to video posted on Twitter, Beijing may be preparing for a 48-hour blitz to quickly take Taiwan. The PLA military planes were seen practicing across the Taiwan Straits.

When Beijing deployed at least 66 planes and 14 vessels to perform drills on Sunday, tensions between Taiwan and China skyrocketed. On Sunday, when Beijing dispatched at least 66 planes and 14 vessels to perform drills close to Taipei's border areas, tensions between Taiwan and China skyrocketed, Republic World reported.

Fourteen People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) ships and 66 People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft were reportedly spotted on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., according to Taiwan's Defense Ministry.

Taiwan Eyeing on Situatuon

According to the Ministry, Taiwan has kept an eye on the situation and used planes to counteract actions. It is important to remember that Taiwan had received a severe scenario warning from China in exchange for permitting US Speaker Nancy Pelosi to visit Taipei. Several hours after Pelosi's jet departed Taipei, it dispatched 27 aircraft to Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ).

Since then, China has also stopped working with the US on projects related to climate change, drug policy, and military endeavors. Phone conversations between the US and Chinese defense ministers have been canceled, and bilateral climate negotiations have been put on hold.

Thomas Friedman, a New York Times columnist, has since criticized Speaker Pelosi's trip as "utterly reckless, dangerous, and irresponsible," adding that the "purely symbolic" trip won't shield Taiwan from Chinese aggression.

Per Daily Express, there are now worries that the US and its counterparts Presidents Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin may start a nuclear war. Both countries share nuclear weapons. In light of the unrest in the world, President Joe Biden even said in public that the US military thought the trip was "not a smart idea right now." Despite being legally obligated to give Taiwan the tools to defend itself, America has never expressly committed to intervening militarily in a fight with China.
