After opening fire inside an Atlanta park on Sunday evening, one person was murdered and a 6-year-old was seriously injured.

During the 7 p.m. shooting, a man in his 30s was fatally shot along with five other people, including the youngster. shooting, according to local media.

Six Shot After Argument at Atlanta Park

An altercation that occurred during a baseball or softball game that was being played within Rosa L. Burney park served as the trigger for the shooting. The 30-year-old male was taken urgently to Grady Hospital, but he was too sick to survive, according to the neighborhood news station.

According to the outlet, the 6-year-old is presently being treated in a serious condition at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - Egleston Hospital. According to authorities, no arrests have been made, and the shooter is still at large. Per NY Post, APD Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said there was a baseball or softball game going on when an altercation started and resulted in gunfire.

It's unclear what the disagreement was about or how the shooter and the victims are connected. The gunshot at the park and the one outside, which occurred earlier on Sunday, were related, according to the police. The first gunshot took place at Rosa L. Burney Park, while the second one took place in front of Dunbar Elementary School at 500 Whitehall Terrace SW, roughly half a mile distant.

Another Shooting Incident in Atlanta Kills a 4-Year-Old Girl

According to CBS46, a four-year-old child was shot and murdered in the backseat of a vehicle on I-85 north across the city in DeKalb County. A representative for the DeKalb Police Department said that at 7:38 p.m., police were called to the intersection of North Druid Hills Road and I-85 north.

Authorities discovered the girl dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound in the backseat of a vehicle. No other people were hurt. It is unknown what caused the unfortunate situation or if the child's death is related to the gunfire in the park, as per Daily Mail.

After an inquiry, authorities concluded that the youngster had discovered her mother's revolver in the backseat and had discharged it, hitting herself in the process. The mother is being detained at the DeKalb County Jail after being arrested and accused of abusing her children.
