Several Hollywood celebrities appear to have disliked Johnny Depp's Instagram post celebrating his trial victory over Amber Heard.
Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for $50 million after she reportedly implied in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed that he assaulted her. Even though she did not name him, he maintains her charges affected his capacity to work.
Hollywood Stars Dislike Johnny Depp's Defamation Win Post
Amber Heard subsequently launched a countersuit against Johnny Depp, accusing him of conducting a smear campaign against her and portraying his action as a continuation of abuse and harassment. The jury returned their judgments in June, concluding that Amber Heard had defamed Johnny Depp on all three counts.
Heard was asked to pay him $10 million in compensatory and $5 million in punitive damages. Heard's lawsuit was deemed to be partially successful, and she was given $2 million in compensatory damages but no punitive penalties.
Throughout the hearings - including Johnny Depp's prior court action against The Sun - a lot of renowned celebrities voiced their opinions on the relationship, with a large number of Hollywood figures showing their support for Depp via Instagram likes.
Following their different postings analyzing the decision, a big number of renowned people liked Depp's post, with Heard receiving far less support. However, it has since been claimed that, for unknown reasons, several of these celebs have disliked the post. Twitter user @k4mil1a highlighted the names by cross-referencing the article with pre-existing lists produced by Reddit users at the time.
Elle Fanning, Bella Hadid, Orlando Bloom, Robert Downey Jr., Zoey Deutch, Sophie Turner, and Bullet Train actor Joey King are among the celebs whose names formerly appeared under the post but no longer do. Others who have appeared to dislike Johnny Depp's post include Jennifer Coolidge, Christina Hendricks, McKenna Grace, Riley Keough, Bruce Campbell and Sam Fender, according to Independent.
Many of Depp's fans, clearly yearning for more entertainment at Amber Heard's expense, decided to crowdfund the $3,300 cost of releasing 6600+ pages of recently unsealed trial documents, which show - amongst plenty of filings that paint Depp in an unflattering light - how Depp's legal team attempted to introduce nude photos of Amber Heard into evidence.
While die-hard Johnny Depp fans remain adamant. Celebrities are gradually withdrawing their support for the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor, mostly by unliking his Instagram post about his defamation win, which praised the jury for "giving his life back." Pro-Amber videos are gaining traction on TikTok, subreddits devoted to calling out Depp are exploding in popularity, and even some of the most clickbait-y YouTube channels appear to be changing their tune, Glamour Magazine reported.
Johnny Depp signs 7-figure deal with Dior
However, Johnny Depp has struck a multi-year agreement with Dior to continue being the face of their Sauvage perfume. According to reports, he signed a seven-figure contract and already has fresh promotional photographs ready for a new campaign as his court battle with ex-wife Amber Heard continues.
After attending one of Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck's shows in Paris, fashion photographer Greg Williams negotiated a fresh agreement to continue fronting the scent. Johnny Depp reportedly completed a picture session with Williams before and after the event, with the resultant artwork scheduled to be featured in a new Dior advertising campaign.
Dior supported Johnny Depp throughout his recent trial, and sales of the perfume he promotes, Sauvage, increased at stores, according to the Wall Street Journal in early June. Both the cosmetics shop and its competitor Ulta have noticed increased sales of Depp's cologne, making it one of their top-selling perfumes online.
Meanwhile, Johnny Depp is still embroiled in legal wranglings with his wife Amber Heard, who is fighting to overturn a June court settlement against her. Amber Heard had previously been refused a mistrial motion, claiming that one of the jurors on the case should not have been qualified to serve since his summons was intended for his father, who had the same name and resided at the same home, as per Daily Mail.
