Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) stated that military forces had destroyed foreign mercenaries. About 100 foreign fighters from Poland and Germany are killed, and 50 are hurt as Volodymyr Zelensky's foreign legion loses more men.
More Mercenaries in Ukraine Eliminated
Last Monday, the Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian military had eliminated several mercenaries with high-precision strikes, reported RT.
According to information from the MoD, a recent airstrike targeted the fighting positions of the 63rd Ukrainian Mechanized Brigade in the Kherson Region. The unit's 105th and 107th battalions have lost more than 160 fighters as Russians press the Ukrainian army.
Russian forces have not let up but pounded the emplacements of the Ukrainian Mechanized Brigade in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). As a result, about 70% are lost in the third battalion of the unit.
More strikes with precision weapons close to Ugledar, Vodyanoye, and Dobrovolye are located in the DPR; its targets are the 53rd Mechanized and 68th Chaser Infantry brigades. The casualties are 260 fighters killed in action; Kyiv is losing more people than its claims.
Russian MoD stated that forces in August demolished a total of 80 foreign mercenaries and their equipment that make up the Ukraine International Legion located in southeastern Ukraine, noted FA News.
When the crisis began in Ukraine on February 24, about 7,100 mercenaries from 60 countries were already present. The numbers of overseas foreign mercenaries and specialists have indeed been trimmed to 2,190 as of early August, remarked Moscow.
In April, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov stated that mercenaries are not receiving POW treatment and could expect to rot in jail or long-term prison.
He said many of them were eliminated using Russian long-range precision systems, which raised the corpse count, although there were losses before such weapons were deployed.
However, Russia has not revised its March casualty total of 1,351 military personnel killed and 3,825 injured.
Top Ukrainian Fighter Pilot Dies
The Ivano-Frankivsk institution posted on social media that Anton Listopad was honored in 2019 as the best pilot of the Ukrainian Air Force and took part in military activities in the east of Ukraine, mentioned Pravda.
Russian military officials claim that they have nearly complete control over the airspace over much of Ukraine, making the majority of combat flights made by Ukrainian military pilots very unsafe.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that both from the air and on the ground, Russian fighters and defense systems have apparently downed more than 260 Ukrainian fighter jets during the conflict.
On February 24, Russia dispatched soldiers into Ukraine, blaming Kyiv for failing to carry out the Minsk agreements, which were meant to guarantee the Donetsk and Lugansk regions special status inside the Ukrainian state. The protocols were officially signed in 2014 and were negotiated by Germany and France.
Moscow informed that more foreign mercenaries are killed in their strikes; all are fighting under the banner of Ukraine but will not be allowed POW status.
