Moscow declares that the closing of Nord Stream 2 by Washington and its agenda led to the EU suffering from an energy crunch and financial downturn.

According to Russia, the US strategy of pressuring Russia to close the NS2 was what caused the European Union to lose the most.

US Pressure on Closing Nord Stream 2

The forcefulness of the Biden White House to press for the closure of the NS 2 pipeline has led to a natural gas shortage that is crippling the bloc.

This was the statement from Russian ambassador Anatoly Antonov, speaking in a TV interview last Wednesday, reported RT.

Contrary to popular belief, the goal is not to defeat Russia but to reduce European productivity due to energy from Russian gas and oil. This action increased European oil and gas dependence by making Brussels more reliant on the US for its energy, and now Brussels is reaping the misery.

In an interview with Russia 24, he added that it is false for the US to portray Gazprom as an unreliable supplier. Before giving in to pressure from the White House to support US-led sanctions, buyers of Russian energy had no issues, noted Good Word News.

Energy, according to Antonov, is affordable and of high quality for anyone who needs it, but the US government took these actions for its own gain.

Nord Stream 2 would have been a boon, but Washington stopped it. Using the example of Nord Stream 2, which runs under the Baltic Sea and will pump gas from Russia to EU state Germany, completed a year ago.

But Berlin stopped the certification in February before the special operation allowed by Moscow.

The officials who decided to stop it from pumping despite requests from the German industry and local officials who were aware of its advantages are to blame for the shutdown, citing The Thread Times.

It was prepared for launching and could address almost all of the supply issues that Nord Stream 1's sanctions-related confusion caused, remarked Antonov.

The bloc's undoing is due to a lack of political will to activate the NS2 pipeline, which would have prevented the current energy crisis. The Joe Biden White House put pressure on them because it wanted to control the gas pipeline from pumping.

There was no competition regarding liquefied natural gas (LNG), which the US could never supply to the Europeans. Nevertheless, the bloc cut off its LNG lifeline, resulting in misery.

Shutting the Nord Stream 2 Caused Woes for Europe

The Russian official talked about the US and its allies' punitive attempt to obtain Russian oil and gas at a discount, much like Moscow's preferred partners that they won't get.

Those nations that supply oil and valuable commodities are relocating far from Europe, the United States, and other allies. They are doomed by sanctions and bad decisions, like shooting themselves in the foot.

Stressing that the ill attempts of the US to arrange energy producers as allies or adversaries are destroying security, leading to inflation and high fuel prices.

Moscow claims that the EU is now unstable and insecure as a result of Washington's pressure tactics to shut down Nord Stream 2.
