A US media outlet reported low quantities of US munition stockpiles after the Biden administration decided to sponsor Kyiv's lethal aid.

Pentagon officials are now looking at a shortage of the US arsenal, yet checking what can be given to Ukraine despite its losing battles to Russia.

US Armed Forces Facing Weapons Shortage

The Wall Street Journal claims in a report that it spoke with unnamed military officials who claimed that arming Ukraine had put the US at risk.

They added that the US military might run out of vital ammunition supplies due to a serious situation created by the Biden White House.

The Biden administration has provided Ukraine with a significant amount of ammunition, along with approximately 806,000 155mm howitzer rounds, add it to thousands of guns, drones, missiles, artillery platforms, and rocket launchers reported RT.

Its source claims that there is a low supply of weapons, which will raise concerns during combat. He added that the 155mm rounds have not yet hit critical levels because the US is not presently involved directly in any major conflicts.

The Army will conduct an ammunition industrial base deep dive to assess how to maintain its own supplies while continuing the current pace of Kyiv's lethal aid due to the drawdown in supplies in US munition stockpiles.

The United States has devoted around $14 billion in weaponry to Ukraine.

Although the WSJ claims that shortfalls are not due to a lack of funding, the military has urged lawmakers to endorse $500 million in upgrades for Army ordnance plants.

For replenishment, the president is requesting $773 billion in funding.

An industry official who spoke to the Journal asserts that more complicated weapons, like missiles, are likely to take much longer.

It can take providers up to 18 months to manufacture various ammunition when requests are received.

The Army and other branches continue to comply with previous agreements with armament producers, but they haven't signed any contracts to cover the increasing shortages.

Some suppliers claim that Washington has increased the number of weapons it sends since February. According to the outlet, the Defense Department is withholding information about these requirements from the military, which has caused delays and demotivated contractors from gearing up for higher output.

US Energy Security Compromised Aside From Arms Shortage

Despite warnings not to use the reserved oil the US has for emergencies, the White House decided to use it to lessen gas prices artificially, citing Mass News.

According to recently released data from the Department of Energy, the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve is at its lowest point since 1984.

Whereas Biden has relied on decimating US reserves to reduce gas prices, his administration has no current plans to refill stocks.

Republicans criticize the president's green energy initiatives and a clampdown on domestic crude oil production again for Biden's sharp increase in gas prices.

Fuel costs increased from an average of $2.28 per gallon in December 2020 to $3.40 next December.

The WSJ report on dangerously low US munition stockpiles due to the Biden administration sponsoring Kyiv's lethal aid has alarmed the military. Included is his mismanagement of the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
