A horrifying Ring camera footage shows an Ohio homeowner shooting and killing his daughter's ex-boyfriend as he attempted to get into the family's house.

On July 31, a deadly shooting took occurred in Sydney, Ohio, killing 22-year-old James Rayl.

Video Shows A Father Shooting Daughter's Ex-Boyfriend

A newly leaked doorbell footage shows Rayl attempting to open the door despite being warned to leave by the family inside. Rayl looks to try to smash down the wooden front door by pounding his shoulder against it, defiant. At one moment, his girlfriend's father can be heard warning Rayl that he is armed.

The door is ultimately broken open, and three gunshots are heard, sending Rayl running, as shown in the video. The 22-year-old walks a short way down the porch stairs before falling in the midst of a sun-dappled footpath.

First responders pronounced him deceased on the spot. According to a joint press release from the county prosecutor and the local sheriff, as published by the Sidney Daily News, an autopsy subsequently revealed that Rayl had two gunshot wounds to the shoulders and a fatal wound to the back.

A lady who identified the intruder as her ex-boyfriend is heard informing her father on 911 that Rayl is attempting to smash down the door. Duckro's daughter is heard telling him after he shot Rayl, "Dad, there's nothing you could have done."

A Shelby County grand jury decided 8-1 earlier this month against indicting Duckro on charges connected to Rayl's death, citing the state's "Stand Your Ground" legislation, which states that a homeowner has no legal responsibility to retreat from their property before shooting a pistol, according to New York Post.

Ohio Judge Rules Not To Charge Mitch Duckro

Allyson Duckro formerly worked as a dispatcher for the Sheriff's department. A grand jury concluded 8 to 1 that Duckro should not be charged with a criminal under Ohio's 'Stand Your Ground' law. Jeffery Hereford, one of the neighbors, can be seen strolling across the Duckro's front yard, stating, "Don't shoot me, and he don't have no gun."

He and two others talked about Rayl's corpse for seven minutes while Rayl was dying. The residents of the house were identified as Mitch Duckro, Stacy Duckro, and Allyson Duckro, and the Duckros were interviewed at the site. Stacy informed neighbors that they had previously contacted 911 and were instructed not to approach because they suspected he had a gun. The Duckros yelled out that they shot him, to which Hereford responded, "He's not moving, he ain't going nowhere."

Rayl dated Duckro's daughter, Allyson, 22, but the couple split up a year and a half before the shooting. Rayl called his ex-girlfriend the night before the shooting to check in and see how she was doing, as per Daily Mail.
