Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, remarked the reckless initiatives of the European Union and the disunity caused are deafening. The actions of the EU have only made it worse for its citizens by considering the dictates of another influence.
Bloc's Actions Only Backfires
Despite claims to the contrary, Zakharova stated that Russia does not undertake a foreign policy directed at splitting the West, especially the EU, reported RT.
Nevertheless, considering how much it has victimized itself with its' united' stand towards Russia, the EU might also stand to gain by being more considerate of opposing opinions and voices, she stated in a radio interview last Wednesday.
She compared the Bloc to the group of blind men illustrated in Pieter Bruegel's painting 'The Blind Leading the Blind.'
"They are united. No one in this group, who are being led towards a ditch, voices any doubt, objects, asks questions or protests," Zakharova added.
She criticized how Brussels sees Moscow as the same as the blind men, noting how the strange suicidal initiatives attributed to the EU are actually imposed or planted by an outside force, reported Azerbaycan 24.
Furthermore, lamenting Russia's treatment could be different as the Bloc ignores to hear opposing viewpoints, which is unfortunate given that it claims to follow democracy.
However, this system of accepting differing viewpoints does not exist; everyone must toe the line of Brussels or else. Zakharova added that many Western leaders believe that Russia's policies will split the EU, but she believes this is not the case but reckless initiatives. One of Moscow's goals is to normalize the chaos caused by external factors and to restore common sense in the European Union.
Her comments came during one radio show about the EU's suggested visa ban for Russians. Ukraine and some Eastern European member states endorse the scheme, but Western European nations like Germany and France believe less restrictive regulations must be levied.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki recommended this week that the Bloc could completely collapse unless those member states implement Warsaw's hawkish Russia policy.
Poland Calls Unity for EU States Against Moscow
According to PM Morawiecki, a schism is growing between Kyiv's fervent supporters and those who desire "business as usual" with Russia, citing Mass New.
Growing disunity within the EU over the Ukraine conflict could bring the Bloc to its knees, as PM Morawiecki told French media on Monday. This is caused by the fact that some member states tend to favor avoiding war instead of continuing to assist Kyiv in its battle against Russia.
He told the French newspaper, Le Figaro, how Russia might try to convince the West to end the crisis in Ukraine and restart "business as usual," reaping the benefits of squabbles among Eurozone countries on the subject.
Morawiecki met with French President Emmanuel Macron last Monday. They discussed the Ukraine conflict, what to do to "force Russian troops to pull back," as well as the EU's economic troubles.
PM Morawiecki announced that he and Macron would express a vision for reinforcing the EU's military capacity. Zakharova expressed dismay over the reckless initiatives implanted in the psyche of the European Union, hoping the madness would end soon.
