Adidas CEO Kasper Rørsted was erroneously reported to have died at the age of 60 in a phony New York Times article that Kanye West tweeted and then removed.
Just a few weeks before, after Adidas introduced its Adilette slides, Kanye West slammed Kasper Rørsted for blatantly mimicking his Yeezy slides.
Kanye West Spreads Fake News on Death of Adidas CEO
Kasper Rørsted, who has been employed by Adidas since 2016, said last week that he will depart the company in 2023. Early in August, Kanye West published a second phony NY Times front page declaring the breakup of Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian's romance.
It is still there on his Instagram profile. He later uploaded it with the remark, "God loves Us." Adidas said last week that Kasper, who joined the business in 2016, will be leaving in 2023, according to CNBC.
His employment with the company was under contract until 2026; Kasper Rørsted and Adidas made no mention of the reason why he was leaving before that time. He will continue in the position until a replacement has been named.
The clothing and footwear partnership between West and Adidas was officially announced in December 2013, and the first collection debuted in February 2015. His first pair of shoes, known as the Yeezy Boosts, were part of that collection and were only sold in 9,000 pairs in New York City. which were all gone in ten minutes.
The $55 Adilette slides were initially introduced by Adidas earlier this month, and the 45-year-old rapper is not happy about them. Before being chosen out of high school in 1996, NBA legend Kobe Bryant signed a six-year contract with Adidas. However, in 2002, Bryant chose to opt-out of his Adidas agreement.
He signed a new contract with Nike in 2003 after waiting a full year as required by his opt-out provision and stayed with them for the rest of his professional career. It's unknown if Adidas or Kasper Rørsted will publicly respond to West's statement, even though they have previously stood behind him. Roasted backed West after he made divisive remarks about slavery being a choice in 2018.
"Kanye West has been and continues to be a key component of our plan and has been a wonderful creator. With that, I'll end my remarks. I won't respond to each remark he or anyone else makes," Kasper Rørsted stated in a Bloomberg interview from May 2018.
Kanye West Tries To Win Back His Wife, Children
Meanwhile, the fictitious newspaper article was published a few weeks after his initial one, which he released when his ex-wife Kim Kardashian's relationship with Pete Davidson, which he called Skete, ended. Two days after Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's separation, he published it.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West got married in 2014; but in February 2021, she filed for divorce; and in March 2022, she was officially proclaimed widowed. The first mention of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson was in October 2021.
Kanye West famously took a dig at Pete Davidson when he buried a facsimile of him alive and severed his head in a new music video for his song 'Easy.' Pete Davidson had been trying to win Kanye West's wife, with whom he shares four children.
In March, the singer addressed the Saturday Night Live host with a series of graphic clay animations. Kanye poked fun at Kid Cudi in the Skete post by writing, "Kid Cudi planned to play funeral but afraid of bottle throwers." This is a reference to Kid Cudi's headline performance at Rolling Loud on July 22 being stopped short because of fans throwing bottles at him. He stepped in for Kanye at the last minute, but Kanye still showed up and performed afterward.
Since the middle of the 2010s, Kanye, better known by his stage name Ye, and Cudi had maintained a strong friendship. However, this year, their relationship reportedly broke down again because of Cudi's association with Pete Davidson, as per Daily Mail.
Kanye West, meanwhile, acknowledged having a porn addiction and said it destroyed his family. The 'Donda' rapper was referring to Kris Jenner, who oversees Kim Kardashian, his ex-wife, and Kylie Jenner, as she supported her daughters during their Playboy magazine photo shoots in September 2019 and 2007, respectively.
West, who has four children with Kardashian: North, Saint, Psalm, and Chicago, has previously expressed disapproval of his four children attending Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California, the school that she ostensibly selected, Pagesix reported.
