Former President Donald Trump lambasted US President Joe Biden's recent address to the nation, describing it as the most "vicious" speech ever delivered by an American president.
"This week, Joe Biden came to Philadelphia to give the most vicious, hateful, and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president," Trump told a raucous crowd on Saturday night in Wilkes-Barre, Fox News reported.
"Vilifying 75 million citizens, plus another probably 75 to 150 if we want to be accurate about it, as threats to democracy and enemies of the state. You're all enemies of the state," Trump added.
In his address in Philadelphia on Thursday, Pres. Biden asserted that "MAGA forces" were attempting to destroy "equality and democracy." This assertion drew harsh criticism from Republicans.
Trump, in his speech on Saturday night, reiterated the criticisms of the conservative media about the "blood red" lighting that was behind Biden throughout the speech.
Trump told the crowd: "How'd you like that red lighting behind him like the devil?"
According to The Huffington Post, Trump was in Pennsylvania to help his backed candidates, including former TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is challenging Democratic state Lt. Governor John Fetterman in the battle for the Senate.
The Right Place for Hate Speech
In a key address on Thursday at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Biden unleashed a furious attack on Trump and charged that the latter was "destroying American democracy."
In addition, Biden described Trump and other MAGA Republicans who are loyal to the ex-president as extremists that undermine the fundamental basis of America.
Trump brought up Biden's contentious comments from Saturday and said that, given the status of the city, Philadelphia was the ideal setting for Biden to deliver such a divisive speech.
He noted: "I think Philadelphia was a great choice to make this speech of hatred and anger."
Then Trump joked: "By the way, by the next morning he forgot what he said." The audience responded with loud applause.
Reviving Old Feuds
When he attacked Hillary Clinton during the speech, the former president reignited a feud, sparking cries to "lock her up" from the crowd.
Trump remarked: "After she set up a secret, illegal server to hide her family's pay-for-play schemes... and then deleted, acid-washed 30,000 emails."
He spent time discussing John Fetterman, Oz's opponent, branding him a "spoiled and entitled socialist loser who leeched off his parents' money."
Donald Trump also blasted fellow ex-US President Barrack Obama saying, "They think he's very gorgeous,' he said, referring to former President Barack Obama. They say he's such a great speaker. What does he say? He says nothing."
Trump said that he would "keep guys out of women's sports," to thunderous applause.
He used the example of transgender swimmer Lia Thomas and her rivals to emphasize his point. Thomas was referred to as a guy, and he claimed that "no woman is ever going to catch" Thomas' pace, according to report from The Daily Mail.
He attacked Democrats harshly, claiming that, among other things, "50% of this country doesn't believe in God, guns, oil, and law enforcement."
Trump ran on a pro-law enforcement platform and reinforced it at the event when he said 'we won't do that' concerning police officers requiring attorneys when accused of wrongdoing.
