Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived in the UK to attend events for a charity near and dear to their hearts. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were previously thought to be highly unlikely to see the Royal Family when they were there, and according to entertainment reporter Michelle Eagleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also don't want to upset the status quo at this time.
The Duke of Sussex reportedly hasn't yet caught up with his older brother and doesn't have any plans to, despite staying at Frogmore Cottage about half a mile from him during his brief visit to the UK this week.
Prince William, Kate Middleton Are Concerned About Prince Harry's Upcoming Memoir
Prince William, who resides in Adelaide Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle with Kate Middleton and his family, is rumored to be concerned that Prince Harry might decide to publish the details of their private chats in his planned memoir.
This would probably continue until the Royal Family was aware of the contents of the book, according to royal biographer Angela Nevin. "I believe Catherine and William would like to avoid any connection with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle until they are aware of the specifics of Prince Harry's memoir and their Netflix documentary," she told The Sun.
The 37-year-old king said, "I'm writing this not as the Prince I was born but as the man, I have become," after announcing last year that he would be releasing the ghost-written book in a contract worth reportedly $20 million, according to Express. Prince William is not believed to be the only one whose doubts have been raised by the biography; other members of the Firm have reportedly expressed concern about speaking with him because of the possibility that he would leak information to the media in the past.
A close friend of Prince Harry predicted last December that the book will "shock the monarchy to the core" and disclose his true thoughts on the royal family. This week, Prince Harry will attend two charity events before continuing on to Germany for an Invictus Games competition, as per Mirror.
Meghan Markle Speaks About Royal Family's Treatment
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle spoke for the first time in Britain since she and Prince Harry retired from their roles as royals. She addressed a gathering of young leaders and praised them for contributing to the positive and essential change in the globe.
The speech was given a week after the publication of an interview with 'The Cut' magazine in which she once more criticized the way the royal family had treated her and the Duke of Sussex, sparking outrage in British media. Meghan Markle recalled her first summit experience, in which she was chosen to serve as a counselor at One Young World in 2014.
The duke and duchess stepped down from their royal responsibilities more than two years ago, and since that time, they have only made one other public appearance in Britain: the Queen's Platinum Jubilee festivities. They continue to garner a lot of media attention, not least because of the rumored friction between Prince Harry's father, Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, and his elder brother, Prince William, ABC reported.
