Kentucky may have a drastically different-looking roster next season. At least seven Wildcats - including Julius Randle, Andrew and Aaron Harrison - are expected to declare for the upcoming 2014 NBA draft, Chad Ford of ESPN reports.
"Randle and (Kentucky swingman James) Young look like they're gone. Hearing both the Harrison twins also want to declare (though their current draft stock may scare them back into school)," Ford wrote, according to NationOfBlue.com. "(Kentucky center Willie) Cauley-Stein and (Kentucky forward Alex) Poythress are both wildcards. Ditto for (Kentucky center) Dakari Johnson.
"It's worth noting that neither of the Harrison twins have shown up in three of the most recent draft predictors from national outlets, including Ford's latest update to his Big Board on Tuesday. It's also worth noting that it would not be a surprise if both players did leave for the NBA after this season, despite what (Kentucky coach) John Calipari has said recently."
Randle, who's averaging 15.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, could be a top-three pick in the draft and both Young (14.1 ppg) and Cauley-Stein (7.8 ppg, 6.4 rpg) are both top-15 picks, according to DraftExpress.com.
Aaron and Andrew are averaging 13.8 and 11.0 points per game, respectively; Poythress is averaging 6.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, and Johnson is logging just 4.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game.
College players who aren't automatically eligible can declare no later than 60 days before the NBA draft.
