Next month, as consumer prices continue to climb, millions of Californians who need assistance with inflation will get a one-time direct payment of up to $1,050.

A portion of California's Middle Class Tax Refund goes toward the relief payments. Beginning in October, stimulus checks will be distributed by direct deposit or debit cards. This summer, Sacramento legislators passed a $12 billion recovery program that included the payouts. A refund of almost $23 million is available to residents.

Californians to Receive $1,050 in October

Depending on the recipients' income and, if applicable, the number of dependents, direct payment amounts will change. Single filers making between $125,001 and $250,000 with no dependents will receive a payment of $200, and married filers making less than $150,000 and having a dependant would receive a stimulus payment of $1,050, as per Washington Examiner.

The stimulus check will be sent as a direct deposit to those who electronically filed their 2020 California state tax return and asked for a direct deposit of their refund. The payment will be made to others using a debit card.

Residents must have filed their 2020 tax refund by October 15, 2021, to be eligible for the Middle-Class Tax Refund. Those who applied for an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) but hadn't gotten one by October 15, 2021, are the one exception to this rule.

Additionally, taxpayers must have spent at least half of the 2020 tax year in California and be residents of the state on the date the payment is issued. Furthermore, they cannot have been claimed as a different person's dependent during the 2020 tax year, according to 247 Wallst.

Californians with incomes under $75,000 will receive $350 apiece, with an additional $350 if they have dependents. For couples, the income cap is $150,000. Each person making between $75,000 and $125,000 will receive $250, with an additional $250 if they have dependents.

Couples income between $250,000 and $500,000 will each receive $200, with an additional $200 if they have children residing in the home. A person earning between $125,000 and $250,000 will receive the same amount, as per Marca.

Other Than California Stimulus Checks

Here is a breakdown of the grants that the states made, ranked from most generous to least. Although these stimulus payments have been listed by the highest possible amount, keep in mind that some of them are for joint filers and others are for single filers.

Maine: Depending on their filing status and income, Maine taxpayers will receive between $850 and $1,700.

New Mexico: Couples who file jointly and who make less than $150,000 annually, including heads of households and surviving spouses, are eligible for a $500 rebate. Individual taxpayers with incomes under $75,000 receive $250. But that's not all; eligible New Mexican taxpayers also received a $500 or $1,000 additional rebate in June and August, depending on their level of income.

Colorado: A $750 tax credit is available to Colorado citizens. Joint filers may be eligible for $1,500.

California: In California, eligible taxpayers may receive up to $1,050.

South Carolina: No of their filing status, South Carolinians will receive up to $800 in income tax rebates.

Oregon: Oregon taxpayers who met the requirements got cheques for $600 in July.

New Jersey: Residents of New Jersey who qualify will receive cheques worth up to $500.

Georgia: Georgians who filed single or separately receive a $250 tax refund, compared to $375 for household heads. $500 is given to joint filers.

Virginia: In Virginia, taxpayers can receive either $250 or $500 (if they file separately) (if filing jointly).

Florida: Families will get one-time $450 cheques; however, you must be a caregiver, foster parent, or a recipient of state assistance to qualify.

Delaware: Adult inhabitants of Delaware are each given a one-time $300 payment.

Hawaii: Depending on their income and tax filing status, Hawaii residents may get either $100 or $300.

Indiana: No matter their level of income, Indiana taxpayers will receive a one-time $125 refund.

Illinois: Individual taxpayers with incomes under $200,000 in 2021 are eligible for $50, while married couples with incomes under $400,000 who filed jointly received $100. Each child, up to a maximum of three, got a $100 benefit for tax filers with dependents.

Idaho: Idaho taxpayers are entitled to a one-time tax rebate equal to the greater of $75 or 12% of their state taxes paid in 2020.

Massachusetts: On their state income tax payment for 2021, taxpayers are eligible for a 7% refund.

Even though the pandemic has mostly subsided (albeit not entirely), there is already discussion about whether the additional stimulus will be provided. Although it is quite unusual, if it does occur, we can anticipate it to originate from one of the states on this list, such as Maine or New Mexico, AOL reported.
