Ex-United States President Donald Trump warned that World War 3 might flare up over Ukraine or Taiwan, underscoring the extremely risky current situation instigated by the threat of Russian President Vladimir Putin to use nuclear weapons.
The New York Post reported that John Catsimatidis, the presenter of 77 WABC radio, questioned Donald Trump on issues that keep the former POTUS up late at night.
Trump replied: "I think more than anything else, I think we could end up in World War 3, and it could be all of the horrible things that took place in Ukraine."
Donald Trump also perceives that it may also happen in China's conflict with Taiwan, given "what's going on over there."
Trump also referred to Putin's speech from last week, where the Russian leader pledged to "use all the means" at their disposal to protect Russia and its citizens.
The former US president also asserted that America is at the most dangerous point in "many, many years--perhaps ever" due to the threat of nuclear weapons.
Trump reportedly concurred with Catsimatidis' assertion that if he were still US President, Vladimir Putin would have initiated an attack on Ukraine in February.
Donald Trump claimed he "got along" with the Russian head of state "very well."
"I understood him. He understood me, probably. But I understood him well, and he would have never done it," the Republican politician said.
US Closely Monitoring Russia's Nuclear Weapons Arsenal
In other news, five current and former US officials say that the United States and partner intelligence agencies are bolstering efforts to identify any Russian military activities or communications that could signify Vladimir Putin's deployment of nuclear weapons in Ukraine, per Politico.
The officials warned that it might be too late to identify signs that the unstable Russian leader had decided to launch the unexpected in a desperate attempt to recapture the initiative or intimidate the rest of the world, which may spark World War 3.
Russia's conventional missile and rocket launchers, along with the majority of its aircraft, are also capable of launching smaller, tactical nuclear warheads. These weapons are meant for more targeted use on the battlefield than strategic arms like intercontinental ballistic missiles, which send off obvious indicators when alerted or mobilized for training.

One US government official who had access to intelligence on Moscow's nuclear arsenal and plan was not authorized to talk publicly but noted they are closely monitoring the situation.
Recent attempts include dispatching more US and allied intelligence support in the air, space, and internet and depending more on private Earth-imaging satellites, one official said.
NATO Takes Putin's Nuclear Threat Seriously
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that the organization takes Russia's statements and warnings of using a nuclear weapon in Ukraine seriously, according to a Reuters report.
In his opening statements before the European Parliament, Stoltenberg declared that any use of nuclear weapons is completely unacceptable."
He said that if Russia uses a nuclear weapon, the European Union and the NATO alliance will penalize it.
The NATO chief warned that if Russia uses nuclear weapons, it "will totally change the nature of the conflict."
Russian officials declared recently that the Kremlin holds the "right" to use nuclear weapons to defend its territory.
