Former New York governor Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday unveiled his strategy for emerging from the political wilderness a year after quitting in disgrace: he intends to launch a political action committee, host a weekly podcast, and create a gun-safety campaign.

Andrew Cuomo, a once-dominant Democrat who quit over sexual harassment claims last year, explained in an eight-minute video that his time away from politics had given him a fresh perspective on the political gap in the country was being repaired, he said.

He painted a gloomy picture of a deeply divided society while mocking cancel culture and the mob. Andrew Cuomo gave few details about his intended objectives. He mentioned his newly established political action group just once. Andrew Cuomo gave little details about his upcoming plans.

He simply stated that the goal of his new political action committee will be to elect the proper individuals in office, adding that "we do not need more panderers, we need creators." It is unknown at this time whether he will try to use some of the $10 million that are still in his campaign account to kickstart the committee.

However, Cuomo promised that he would tell the complete truth, unvarnished because sadly, nowadays we are short on facts and long on opinion. The former governor did not specify when he would begin his podcast or what its subject would be, as per New York Times.

Cuomo also spoke for eight minutes into the camera about his recent exile and his future ambitions in a video that was released online and forwarded to reporters by his spokeswoman. Ironically, Cuomo said while wearing an open-collar dress shirt and blazer, "I had a lot to make up for," adding that being removed from office allowed him to spend time engaging in something called life.

But Cuomo, who has denied all accusations, without expressing the slightest regret or apology to his numerous victims added, "The past several months offered me a new perspective on politics, on people, and even on life," according to New York Post.

The 'Gun Safe America Project', which is also led by the former governor, will soon release additional details, he promised. Cuomo criticized the Twitter mob, which he claimed had stalled progress in Washington and that "many politicians and journalists are reluctant to oppose... lest the mob turn on them," The Hill reported.

Cuomo's Sex Scandal

Recent allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination against the former governor were made in a federal complaint filed by Charlotte Bennett, a former Cuomo staffer and one of his first accusers. Throughout the controversies that have engulfed his administration, Cuomo has maintained his innocence.

Meanwhile, Andrew Cuomo criticized Democrats in Washington for not putting an assault weapons prohibition up for a vote in the Senate as he introduced his Gun Safe America Project.

In what might be interpreted as a dig at Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, one of many prominent New York politicians to call for Cuomo to resign last year, he acknowledged the body's recently passed bipartisan gun legislation but pointed to its limitations and said Democrats needed a new approach on the matter.

US President Joe Biden stated in a speech a few weeks ago that he was determined to enact a ban on assault weapons, but the Senate just passed a gun package that had neither a ban nor any restrictions on the number of weapons that could be owned, according to Cuomo.

"To demonstrate that the Republicans are preventing passage, the Democrats wouldn't even bring the assault gun ban bill to the floor with all Democrats in favor. Then, at least, we could explain the situation to Americans. I have some thoughts for a fresh strategy that we require," he said. Cuomo went on to say that some of those viewpoints will be expressed via the upcoming weekly podcast he will host, as per CNN.
