Robert Mendez, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman, said Washington should end cooperation on any activity with Saudi Arabia due to the oil cut.

Mendez, the Democrat committee chief, reaction indicates the snub that has damned the US and advantaged Russia in the Ukraine conflict instead.

Oil Production Cut Outrages America

In a declaration, Menendez directly pointed to cutting off all arms sales and security cooperation, one of the underlying principles of the more than 70-year-old US strategic alliance with the oil kingdom, which is a blow to defending American interests, reported Republic World.

The Democrat from New Jersey stated that he would not approve any cooperation with Riyadh until the kingdom rescinds its posture regarding the war in Ukraine.

"Enough is enough," Mendez emphasized.

He made his remarks four days after OPEC participants Saudi Arabia and Russia proclaimed a decrease in oil output of 2 million barrels per day.

The output reduction also endangers American attempts to make the war financially untenable for Russia, jeopardizes an already volatile global economy, and ends up putting President Joe Biden and Democrats at risk of being forced to come to terms with rising gasoline prices shortly before the midterm elections in the United States, noted New Jersey News.

The Democrat committee chief and his official statement on Monday positions him as one of a growing number of Democrats who have considered halting billions of dollars in annual US weapons deals to the kingdom since their official release by OPEC nations and Russia.

Saudi Maintains Friendly Relations with Russia

The Dems are accusing the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom's de facto leader, as a lifeline facilitating the US's rise to power was severed. People assume that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will follow the US administration's lead.

Instead, by failing to secure cheap oil, Washington lost a geopolitical ace that could bring down the Biden administration. Additionally, no one wants to supply the US with its oil needs, which is making the US desperate.

A week ago, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was among the Dems livid that Mohammed bin Salman had taken the side of Vladimir Putin.

Then he said that Democratic lawmakers should consider new laws to punish the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its unacceptable actions, including siding with Russia in addition to rejecting the US in the worst way, citing ABC News.

Immediately, a spurned Biden administration was working to force OPEC+ to rescind its decision by stopping arms sales to the Kindom of Saudi Arabia.

On Monday, the White House did not respond immediately to Menendez's initiative.

Americans also condemn the crown prince for persisting in trying to seem cordial with Putin and refusing to participate in US-led attempts to separate and penalize Putin for his incursion into Ukraine in February.

To mend fences with Prince Mohammed, Biden went to Saudi Arabia in July and gave the prince an awkward fist bump.

The Democrat Committee chief added that Washington is stopping the association from forcing Saudi Arabia to follow it, not the other way around. According to a Democrat committee chief, Washington cut ties to pressure Saudi Arabia to align with the US tune.
