Johnny Depp is launching his own book publishing company. "The Unraveled Tales of Bob Dylan," is the first book published under the new imprint.
Johnny Depp, one of the finest actors and an Oscar nominated star, known for his unremarkable work and splendid acting skills is now focusing on books that will display his interests and passion.
"I pledge, on behalf of Infinitum Nihil, that we will do our best to deliver publications worthy of peoples' time, of peoples' concern, publications that might ordinarily never have breached the parapet," Depp said in a statement released by HarperCollins.
The imprint is set to be a part of HarperCollins Publishers, which the company announced on Monday. Depp will also help run the publishing imprint with Infinitum Nihil, same as his production company, "Nothing is forever."
Depp also thanked HarperCollins Publishers and is looking for a long-term relationship.
"For this dream realized, we would like to salute HarperCollins for their faith in us and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together," Depp added in the statement released by HarperCollins.
While Depp is focusing on "authentic, outspoken and visionary ideas and voices," he is starting his imprint with Bob Dylan's book.
"Johnny and I thought the Dylan book was the ideal way to inaugurate the Infinitum Nihil series," Douglas Brinkley, who wrote a cover story on Dylan for Rolling Stone recently, said in the HarperCollins release. "Bob has been very warm and forthcoming with us. His music has inspired us both deeply since we were teenagers."
Depp and Brinkley will write an essay to introduce the novel. Woody Guthrie who wrote the book died in 1967, finished the book in 1947, but couldn't publish it. The manuscripts remained in his archives.
Apart from Depp, other known celebrities who own their imprints are Chelsea Handler, Rachael Ray, Anthony Bourdain, and Glenn Beck.
