Massive demonstrations took place in Berlin, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles on Saturday to show support for Iranian protesters calling for government reforms after Iran's morality police allegedly beat 22-year-old Mahsa Amini to death for violating the country's hijab law.

Hundreds of women and men in green, white, and red on the US National Mall chanted in rhythm. As they strode towards the White House, the demonstrators chanted: "We are one in this."

Iranians from all around the Washington, DC region, and even those who made the trip down from Toronto, attended the protests organized by local activists from across the United States, according to AP News.

A mass of demonstrators formed a slow-moving parade along blocks of a closed downtown thoroughfare in Los Angeles, the city with the highest concentration of Iranians outside of Iran.

They waved hundreds of Iranian flags, turning the landscape into a wave of red, white, and green as they called for the ousting of the Iranian regime.

They shouted, "We want freedom."

After Amiri's passing on September 16, Iran's massive anti-government demonstrations first concentrated on the nation's obligatory headscarf for women.

The Iran protests have become a significant threat to the Iranian government since the 2009 Green Movement over disputed elections.

More student demonstrations against the government took place at many Tehran universities on Saturday.

Biden Condemns Brutal Crackdown on Iran Protesters

Rights organizations claim that over 200 people, including teenage girls, were killed when Iranian security forces used live fire and tear gas to disperse protesters.

The Biden administration denounces the cruelty and persecution of Iranian civilians and will seek harsher penalties if the bloodshed persists, per Fox News.

President Joe Biden mentioned the protests over Amini's murder during last month's UN General Assembly, saying that the United States supported the "brave women of Iran" who are now marching to defend their fundamental human rights.

Biden said the US is trying to make it simpler for Iranians to use the internet by supporting more access to safe external services and platforms.

Almost 40,000 people showed up in Berlin, Germany, to offer support for the Iranian women and activists over the past several weeks. The demonstrations, led by the Woman's Life Freedom Collective, launched the protest at the Victory Column in Tiergarten park and marched through the city's historic center.

Notorious Iranian Militia Leads Crackdown on Protesters

Meanwhile, a notorious Iranian militia is reportedly leading the attack on demonstrators in Iran.

Several videos of Iran protests against the Basij have been published digitally following her murder, NBC News reported.

Basij members have been accused of using violence against anyone who speaks out against the cleric-led administration.

During nonviolent anti-government rallies in 2009, sparked by a controversial presidential campaign, the squad was accused of using violence and intimidation by Amnesty International and other rights groups.

Amnesty International said at the time that it had evidence that the Basij had used live bullets and battered protestors.

The US Department of the Treasury sanctioned a Basij deputy commander last month after charging him and the militia with "numerous occasions" of shooting unarmed protestors.

This came after the British Treasury imposed penalties on individuals connected to the organization in January for rights abuses such as killing, torturing, and assaulting unarmed protestors.

Arab Gulf States Institute senior fellow Ali Alfoneh claimed some Basij members are encountering difficulties in curbing anti-government protestors, especially young women and girls organizing the rallies.
