The World Series matchup in Major League Baseball pits a returning squad against a team that has not appeared in the Fall Classic in over a decade.

On Sunday night, according to a report published by Tempo, the Houston Astros beat the New York Yankees 6-5 after falling behind by three runs early. After sweeping the Seattle Mariners in the division series, the Houston Astros improved to 7-0 in the postseason this year.

Astros Ready to Win More

Sunday's victory kept alive a dominant 2022 campaign for Houston, which includes 106 wins in the regular season. The Astros won Game 4 after trailing 5-4 thanks to taking advantage of errors and putting the ball in play despite a lack of offense, injuries, and subpar pitching performances when it mattered most at the MLB Playoffs, as per a Fansided report.

To reach the World Series for the fourth time in the last six years, the Astros had to remove the Yankees from the playoffs for the fourth time since 2015.

On Friday, the Astros will play against the Phillies in Houston for the first game of the World Series. Houston won the MLB championship in 2017, but lost the final in 2019 and again last year. Houston's Alex Bregman expressed excitement to sustain keep playing and eventually win four more MLB games.

Bregman said: "We've still got some baseball left to play." The Astros are only the third club in MLB history to win both the division series and the ALCS in consecutive sweeps.

It had been since 2009 that the Phillies had last been to the World Series, but this year they made the playoffs for the first time since 2011. Since 2008, they have failed to win the MLB championship.

Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies, who hit the game-winning home run on Sunday that propelled his team to the World Series, expressed confidence that his team will seize the opportunity to win the series. "We always believed," Harper noted.

Heartbreaking Season For The Yankees

With the loss, the Yankees' season comes to a disappointing finish. Moreover, Aaron Judge, who probably played his last game for the team by finishing the game with a groundout, may have played his last game for the Yankees.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone acknowledged that the Astros were the better team in the series and set a gold standard for the American League, ESPN reported.

"They're clearly setting the mark in this league that we're aspiring to get to," Boone noted. The club that the rest of the American League hopes to be is one win away from claiming its first World Series championship since 2017.

Their Astros' next opponent, Philadelphia, had an MLB season that saw a slow start. As of the beginning of June, the club had a record of 21-29. The Phillies were the last major league team to reach the postseason with a regular-season record of 87-75, per NPR.

Philadelphia will now attempt to make MLB history by becoming the first-ever team that placed third in its division that won the World Series. Meanwhile, there were lots of discussions on the internet when the Yankees vs. Astros game. A lot of them show excitement about the World Series, also many users poked fun at the losing team at the ALCS.
