Jason David Frank, a famous actor and mixed martial artist known for portraying the green Power Ranger in the first TV series, passed away at the age of 49.
Frank is best known for playing Tommy Oliver in the 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' franchise's initial run, which started in 1993.

His most recent project, 'New Era - Legend of the White Dragon', which was successfully funded through Kickstarted, called for him to reprise his role as the green Power Ranger. The movie will debut in 2023.
Per News.com, his four children are left behind. Frank Walter Jones, who played the Black Ranger, received several tributes and was described as being "dearly missed."
As seen by the numerous mentions of his initiatives on social media, Jason David Frank's affiliation with the franchise appeared to be a significant part of who he was. Frank had a successful and proud mixed-martial arts career in addition to his acting profession; he held an 8th degree black belt.
He trained a variety of martial arts, including as Judo, Taekwondo, and jiu-jitsu. Jason David Frank was recognized in the World Karate Union Hall of Fame in 2003, as per Fox News.
Jason David Frank's Cause of Death
After several rumors and posts on social media, Justine Hunt, Frank's manager, told TMZ that the actor had passed away. Suicide is listed as the actor's cause of death by sources with "direct knowledge" of the incident.
On September 4, 1973, Frank was born in Covina, California. About halfway through the first season of 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' in 1993, he joined the cast as Tommy Oliver/the Green Ranger.
Tommy was brainwashed into pursuing the Power Rangers by the wicked Rita Repulsa in the initial portrayal of the Green Ranger as a villain. Rita's influence was eventually broken, though, and Tommy eventually joined the group of heroes.
Frank was only scheduled to play Tommy Oliver on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for a few episodes, and once the Green Ranger's abilities were broken, the character was basically written off.
Even the television pilot for Cybertron, which would later become VR Troopers, was pursued by Frank. The Power Rangers fandom, however, proved to be so devoted to Tommy that the authorities were forced to bring Frank back. Tommy Oliver became the White Ranger as a result.
Frank continued to portray Tommy Oliver for many more years, playing the part as the Red Zeo Ranger, the Red Turbo Ranger, and the Black Dino Ranger in addition to his stint as the Green Ranger and the White Ranger.
In a live-action trailer for BOOM!, he even portrayed Lord Drakkon, a villainous alternate reality version of Tommy Oliver. comic book series Power Rangers: Shattered Grid by Studios.
