Police have provided their most recent status report on the investigation into the weekend killings of four University of Idaho students, but specifics like a suspect, murder weapon, or motivation are still unknown.
On November 13, it is thought that Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin died in an off-campus apartment in the wee hours of the morning.

The Moscow, Idaho police reported on Saturday that Goncalves and Mogen were driven home by an unidentified "private party." Police had earlier stated that they took an Uber home. The department stated on its Facebook page that "detectives are now investigating the private party driver who picked up Kaylee and Madison on November 13th and do not believe he is connected in this crime."
New information concerning the victims' roommates, who were probably at home during the crime, is also included in the briefing, as per The Independent.
The two roommates who shared a property with Goncalves, Mogen, and Kernodle got home about 1 a.m., according to authorities, not long before the killings were allegedly committed. The roommates fell asleep as soon as they arrived home, according to Moscow police, and didn't wake until "later on November 13," which helped to explain why a 911 call didn't reach police until midday the following day.
According to authorities, the call was "made from within the apartment on one of the roommates' cell phones." In relation to Goncalves, whose family claims she called the same guy seven times that evening, officials stated they were aware of calls the victims made to other people the night of the deaths.
According to authorities, all four deceased were determined to have died from homicide by stabbing. Each victim was stabbed numerous times while they were likely dozing off at the time of the attack, according to the police. Authorities said that although several victims had defensive wounds, there were no indications of a sexual assault, ABC News reported.
In response to the horrible occurrence, University of Idaho President Scott Green spoke on safety on Sunday. He said that more security has been implemented, and that efforts are being made to accommodate students who don't feel secure on campus.
A map and timetable showing the victims' locations in the hours leading up to the killings were also made public by police on Friday. Goncalves and Mogen, who had been best friends for life, were in Moscow's downtown on November 12 while Chapin and Kernodle, who were dating, were in the Sigma Chi residence, according to the police.
Goncalves and Mogen were captured on camera at the Grub Truck food seller at around 1:40 in the morning. They then allegedly hitched a lift home from a private party and arrived around 1:45 a.m., according to police.

The individual shown in the Grub Truck security footage with the victims is not thought to be a part of the crime, according to the authorities' statement on Friday. Chapin and Kernodle also arrived at home around 1:45 a.m. According to his mother, Stacy, Chapin was staying with his girlfriend but didn't live in the house where they were slain.
When you see "strange conduct, have video surveillance, or can offer relevant information," call the tip line at (208) 883-7180 or send an email to tipline@ci.moscow.id.us, say the police, who are looking for clues.
Additionally, Idaho police disregarded rumors and ruled out several persons who had contact with the victims the night of a quadruple killing, leaving witnesses and video as the major prospects. In the 7-square-mile city of roughly 26,000 residents, the chief and other officials tried to reassure the neighborhood on Sunday that they are committed to solving the crime and had scores of detectives and extra cops, including 15 state troopers, on the job.
Per NBC News, detectives have so far conducted 90 interviews after sorting through 646 tips, according to Fry. Doorbell, cellphone, and security footage that was recorded between three in the morning and six in. and 6 a.m. cops reported that early in the morning in the vicinity of the home, roughly a half-block from campus.
